Damage from corrosive ammo?

ITs a chinese sks . i shoot it once and it blew the primers out of cz m43 ammo . its rusted not dirty. its now a parts gun for a .22 sks build we are working on !!
I see, you have the perfect exemple that even a chrome bore can rust if neglected. Of course when the rust and pitting are well installed, not much to do for it.

We used AK-74 and AKS-74U in 5.45x39mm/RPK amd DshK mashinguns. For shooting regular soldier in artillery use around 200 bullet/yr.Infantry probably a lot more.i was corporal and they have policy to teach us to use any of weapon in regiment-from makarov and AK to DshK and RPG/No SKS .My father was working in grain elevator and they have guard armed with SKS(end of 70-early 80)

I work with a fellow at work he served in the Czech Army long ago, he has stated many times that he liked using the AK and trained on many different weapon systems... it is very Cool the SKS was still in Military service of some sort even as late as the 80's.

i am served in Red Army for 2yrs and never (NEVER)was told to do any special cleaning for AK-just regular gun oil and brushes. And my AK was shiny and clean all times(or my butt will be kicked hard by corporal )/Lots of elbow grease))

My Words! Hot Water is to get the crust out of muzzleloaders, not for red rifles! I got smoked in another treat a while ago for stating cleaning and a spray of oil will do,no need for hot water or expensive special solvents...but you have the experiance, you've been there in the red Army, and your corporal was right...your post should be highlighted as a sticky!
