Is yours one of the rubber bullet only guns? Check your serial number and please let me know. Mine is apparently rubber bullet only which makes it a wall hanger or garbage.
 
Bad news all around. I have shot over 1000 rounds from mine and so far I guess I have been lucky. It's my competition firearm and on my Form 6. Ya, mine is AA60xx so totally on the list. Bought from a site sponsor years ago. As of yesterday I would have said I'm very happy with mine.

Tara absolved themselves announcing a notification on sept, 17, 2021 that they don’t assume any responsibility or warranty if these pistols are used with real ammunition. So I take it lots of people are hooped. Perhaps the dealer, auction house, or secondary market seller should carry some burden, but you’re not going to get anywhere.
I’d try to find out in what way where they different and inquire about replacement parts if it’s anything other than the frame.
 
The OP mentioned not getting any traction from SFRC (a site sponsor on CGN). I'd be interested in hearing why the owner is not standing behind the sale. I don't know how the Tara's were advertised, but from the OP's video and the response, there was no mention that these particular handguns aren't intended for real ammunition.

I'm glad the news is getting out for everyone's safety, but definitely sympathize with the disappointment... and hopefully a TM-9 is not someone's only pistol.

That's actually rather funny since I know the story behind these. These were purchased from a distributor in Europe and brought into Canada by some Canadian distributors. Tara got mad that the European distributor sold them to other distributors and then posted all the serial numbers saying they were blank/rubber bullet guns as some type of revenge tactic. They are regular 9mm guns, Tara just had a hissy fit that they weren't sold thru them.
 
Wow thats unfortunate, hopefully you get some answers soon. The revenge story is interesting one, you think any normal company that made these would mark blanks only on it or not for live ammo before they were even sold.

That makes a lot of sense. If these really were designed to fire blanks or rubber bullets, there would either have to be a restriction in the barrel, or the recoil spring would have to be really weak to allow the gun to function. Either way, it would be severely damaged in short order if it was fed full power standard ammo. Think of firing a 45 auto with a 22 recoil spring.

No way people are firing 1000 rounds of full power ammo through a gun that is meant for blanks/rubber bullets.

I would think that the company would be exposed to liability lawsuits if they made guns that were designed for blanks / rubber bullets, yet not clearly marked as such, and were capable of chambering standard ammo.

This, esp if they were being sold to the US. The country why warning labels for everything are there.
 
Guess I'll be meltin' down my old summer tires and casting my own rubber bullets for reloading. They're steel belted, should be great as defensive ammo.:rolleyes:
