Hi fellas.
ive just returned from a 4 day hunt off a big lake in Victoria, Australia. With at first 3 other members from an Australian hunt Forum.
We picked a spot off the Map, around 15kilometers up an arm of the Lake, the day we got to camp was a beautiful day an transiting on the lake via boat was pretty good, although I was mega over packed an my 15hp motor would not plane the boat but it pushed me up in around 30 minutes!
Here is my hunting pals on route to "Chain Saw bay"
We got out Camp set up, minus the tarp, until of course too late and everything wet, then we erect the Tarp to keep us Dry, which wsa a wise move, as it rained for the following 2 days.... quite heavy!
We were prepared, Rain did not dampen our spirits but ignited them, in hopes of turning the Stags on in the mongrel weather.
Wild wind, pouring rain, a burnt out bush in Remote Alpine national Park, it really was an adventure!
Im going to keep it pretty short, but it was My birthday Saturday so I wanted to shoot a stag, I hunted hard for the 3 days and come across little Stag sign but I ran into a lot of Hinds.. Saturday Rained heavy an 'Sir Monk' and I went out to see what we could find, around Lunch time we were watching over a Gulley when on Cue a Hind walked and fed out rather quickly an gave us enough time to settle in behind the Gun and have Sirmonk shoot Hes Frst Ever Deer! I was stoked but Sirmonk was even moreso, Solid double lung shot at 120m, we watched her run off an pile up a further 100m away.... once it set in Sirmonk still couldn't believe it!
A True Wild Free Range Sambar Deer in its 'Natural' Enviroment..... no easy feat but a Serious Addiction!
Unreal Adventure, Mother nature threw everything at us... and We came Back in one piece! Cannot wait to get back in when the Stags have come off the Mountain tops! its going to be unreal!
Thanks for Reading, Sorry no Big Antlers in this one~!!
