Dd is taking a dive with this vid!

Why does he have such an inconsistent grip? is it showing the innovations of DD to allow the user to both hold the firearm near the magwell and near the muzzle?

Rob Pincus does have some kind of strange ideas IMO...he's extremely athletic and pretty in to crossfit and plyometric workouts so he does a lot of box-jump kind of stuff and I think it's resulted in a lot of "look at Rob doing this crazy fitness thing" stuff in his videos, which to me is a little pointless as far as the guns themselves go. On the other hand, maybe there's an argument for it just because it does give you some sense of who the guy is...pretty hard core shooter, anyway.

At any rate I have seen a few pretty oddball items from him over the last year or two but he's a big name, which is why DD is putting him out there.

There's a lot of "look at the ninja" stuff done in this industry that personally I find pretty hurting, but there's a market for it.

I consider it a very close cousin to the "used by Seal Team 13 Delta Ops Unit Attack Squad to kill Robot Hitler" stuff you always see about various guns from Colt 1911s to HK416s. It's ###, but it's not entirely ineffective.

I love how anyone cares if DD puts up a showy commercial. It's like having a commercial where professional drivers are stunt racing Dodge rams. Does anyone really need to do synchronized drifting in the nevada desert? Ideally no. And what kind of commercial do you want? Some other random dude just standing there saying "DD rocks"? how fun would that be. There is no bad publicity, only publicity you didnt get.

Basically the commercial shows: the gun is tough, a tool and not a princess. It is made for more than just stand and plink. Rob Pinkus is more athletic than you and obviously doesnt give a :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug:.

I mean has anyone seen the sonny pudzikas info vids? That is some crazy :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug: too but would you rather have 2 dozen Pudzikas' or pinkus' on your team or 2 dozen overweight gun nerds that talk sheet on the internet and rarely take their training beyond stand and plink [or even worse sit and plink]? I find its always the fat kids that :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug: about other peoples athleticism. just sayin'

Well Said!

If i buy a rifle made by a company with a fancy motto can I also jump over tall hay bails in slow motion?

Also serious question time; when he runs dry and does a mag change, why is he manipulating the charging handle and not the bolt catch? It seems to me that slapping the bolt catch would be faster. Or maybe that's just the "institutional inertia" from how I was taught.

D!NK

I wondered the same thing... after i put a new mag in my thumb is right by the "ping pong paddle"

I cant jump like that in blue jeans though, so I must not be in the know

I think the scope is mounted normal and he's using forty five degree offset backup iron sights
Correct me if I'm wrong
I'm not expert on systems/carbine manipulation/jumping on car trunks/jumping over hay/etc

Beat me to it! That said, I saw the exact same thing when I watched.

I'm with you on this except that having Sonny 'on your team' may not be as amazing as you think.

Good post

I just realized...I REALLY don't care.

I shoot my guns, I have fun...as long as everyone is safe what is to get your ###L boxers into a bunch? Is it maybe because you CAN'T jump over things?

Look at how many people are watching the video and talking about it.

It's pretty effective marketing, even if you don't agree with the content. Score for DD.

DMcFaul is right

As entertaining as it is I believe what Dan defense is doing is just tapping into the market of running your gun hard and all the tactical manipulation of weapons and ish
It seems to be the market trend??

>>>>>>I say this because of all the episodes that follow this one by dan defense that teaches all that I mentioned above

There marketing vid belongs in Hollywood with the brain dead idiots, what is going on.....

There products are awesome, but I guess they want all Shrubmasters buyers as well....

Who is Rob Pincus, is he a stunt man?

Pincus is a total square/goof.
Don't say that lightly and yes he served with the very top of the top back in the day. But hot dam when he speaks I face palm with tears.

My favorite part is when he used his high speed low drag tactical stealth bayonet to demolish the cinder block. I don't see it listed on the Daniel Defense product line. Is it only sold to real operators?

That could be the case. I can see him filling the role of 'wildcard' too well. Also, according to a mate of mine in the US Sonny is insanely into drinking. Vodka. Beyond a hobby. Like its a sport. They didnt even pretend to start he course early at 8, they just went from 10-7.

I 2nd this as well. All of these Firearms Tactics Gurus are extreme personalities. Even a chilled out, squared away guy like Kyle Lamb has what I consider to be some strange ideas. You basically have to take what you think is valuable and leave what you think is goofy.

But I like to keep an open mind to even the goofy stuff especially if the instructor explains it logically. I mean how much goofy :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug: is in every magpul video? tons. But they explain it well and it is a legit option if you are into it. People treat those videos as the gospel. It's an industry catering to a niche market [sorta] and marketing is marketing. As stated, this marketing is doing good. I would totally buy a DD if I were into AR's. That being said I like my dirty little Norinco too much to cheat on her. So long as I put a PMag up her butt and grease her a bit she eats whatever I feed her, doesnt stop and doesnt want to be cleaned. Perfect. She's heavy too, just the way i like them ;)

Basically I'd like to avoid having anyone on my team that wanders into shoot houses and blows holes in his students. I feel like confirming that you aren't shooting a paying customer is just a critical skill that instructors need to be applying with pretty much 100% success before I want them on my team.
