DD MK18 optic and sights?

I just ordered a DD MK18 in FDE, its the older one that is black with just a FDE rail. Now I need to order an optic and some iron sights. So I was wondering if you guys could suggest an optic and sights that I can actually buy fairly easily in Canada or online. I am looking at either Aimpoint or Eotech but Im not sure which model is the best for the mk18. And Id really like if it was possible to get the optic in FDE also!

Same with sights, Id like something metal, Im not really feeling the bulky plastic Magpul looking ones

thanks I believe I can get the XPS3 in FDE, but do you know where I can find those sights?

Also I am looking for FDE furniture, Id like that LMT SOPMOD stock in FDE but I can only find it in black. I could cerakote it I guess but is there anywhere that sells them already FDE? Also if I do or dont go with that one does this rifle require a mil spec size stock?

Any suggestions for a FDE grip and forward or lower grip?
 
Well, for optics I have a exps 2 on my mk18 and really like it though I may put my comp ml3 on it. I have not put iron sights on it since spending an additional 200-400 could be spent elsewhere. I have a qd tangodown stubby grip on mine in black though I don't know if it comes in fde. Grip I have a blk MIAD though I have a fde hogue overmolded ambi grip that I really like on a different lower.

As for the stock I have a black sopmod. Fde can be found if you look for a while though I would honestly go with a magpul STR in fde.

Thanks for your info. I am about the pull the trigger on a EoTech EXPS3 in Tan with a G33 Magnifier in tan also. Im like %95 decided Im going with that

Have you tried any of the other Magpul grips? The company that has the Eotech stuff in stock only has the standard MOE grip in tan. How does your MIAD compare? And do you find it a big plus having the MIAD?

As for the stock I was actually looking at the STR, it looks similar to the SOPMOD so I like it also. If I go with that does it have to be Mil spec? or commercial? Since they call the DD MK18 a mil spec does it really comes with mil spec sized tubes requiring mil spec but stocks?

Also how do you like that Noveski muzzle? I see them in stock at Questar and like the look but Im wondering if they are worth the price as they are expensive, and also how it changes the rifle?
 
Eotech only make the 553 and the EXPS3 in Tan. Wolverine have a good price on them but they are out of stock right now, you can try to call them for a ETA.

For the iron sigh I'm using KAC micro rear but couldn't found the KAC front so I use the Magpul Pro front. I really that setup because it's compact.

Daniel Defense use Mil-Spec buffer tube. Good luck finding the SOCOM in FDE. You can try to put a add on EE or ask Irungun to import you a LMT or B5 SOCOM. If you like the Vltor, Wolverine have the EMOD in FDE.

For the grip choose the style you like almost every manufacturer make grip in FDE. Personally I switched all my Magpul grip for BCM because I prefer the more vertical angle of the BCM.

Here's mine with Vltor stock, BCM grip and a EXPS 2 that I Cerakote the hood.
 
A taupe KAC M4 front is best thing you can get for a FDE MK18, you can pick a 300m or 600m micro to complete the set depending if you think the 600m is worth having (I think so).
As for grip I'd skip the MIAD and just go for a reduced angle PG (MOE K/K2, BCM, Umbrella, B5...) well worth it on such a short gun. I've got the K2 on mine and love it.
TD makes a FDE foregrip, also correct MK18 clone part if that is your thing.
If ever you go with a T1 TD also makes the iO in FDE, but seems to me you're leaning towards the EXPS anyway... both optics are pretty sweet and have their respective plus, and you save with the mount if you go with the EoTech.

Sounds like your main optics are figured out. Can't go wrong with any on the above mentioned. As for the grip the miad seem to get poopoo'd by a lot of people on here just like the BAD lever(rightly deserving). I personally like it since the large beavertail backstrap fits my hands very well so it works for me. I have and use the moe and moe+ I don't like the moe+ soft rubber coating if shooting bare hands. Great with gloves.

The STR in mil spec is the best bang for your buck for a great stock with space Ifull secure cheek weld. Keep an eye out on the EE. They pop up on there.

As for the pig, I like it. It totally kills the flash on mine even in low light there is no disruption of the sight picture. Sure it's a bit heavy but I've had only the occasional dirty look from bench rest guys when I'm shooting it at the range. Our does it's job though remember it does nothing got muzzle climb. Again keep an eye out on the EE they come up regularly.
Other upgrades is a raptor CH and geiselle ssa-e

True I ordered the EoTech last night, and they just called me just now to take my credit card info for payment. I went with the EXPS3-0 and G33 magnifier both in Tan color
Like this setup, its in Alberta and Im in Ontario so I should have it in a few days.

I like the whole keeping it legit to the MK18 but I dont want to be searching for parts that are impossible to get. I am not afraid to spend the money though if the parts are possible to get, this is my first rifle and I have already spent about $3500 on it and optics/accessories. I am having a hard time finding KAC sights in Canada or a US site that will ship them to Canada though. And the SOPMOD stock is $330 at Questar, they only have it in black and Im not sure if its worth it. I mean it would be nice to keep it MK18 legit but will I like that $300 stock better then a $60 stock of a different brand? I have a little bit of a disadvantage when it comes to rifles because Im a right handed shooter, and I used to be right eye dominant, but an accident 3 years ago left me left eye dominant now. So for some rifles its hard for me to get my left eye into the sights, if the sights are too low or the cheek pad wont let me get in there. I really like the idea and look of the KAC 45 offset sights, but again who knows where I would be able to source them?

So when you guys list parts on your builds, it would be great if you could also include links to where you bought them or if you know who carries them in Canada

Thanks I recognize your rifle from all the MK18 pictures I have been drooling over. The Noveske is one part that really sticks out and made me recognize yours out of all that I have seen so far.

How do you like the Geiselle trigger? Wolverine had them in stock too, so I actually already ordered the SSA-E kit with the rifle. How does it compare to the stock DD trigger? I probably wont put it in right away
 
Running an XPS 3.0 on my Mk18 Clone. I've ordered Troy Battle Sights in Tan, but may just keep the EoTech on without them for simplicitys sake.

I'll also add another vote for the BCM Mod 1 Grip & Vltor iMod stock as alternate choices to the B5 & LMT SOPMOD stocks

Keep an eye on the EE for a LMT SOPMOD a they come up every now and than at less than half price, they are worth that much, just not worth 300$. The B5 is worth 130$ and it's the exact same stock really, finding them in stock isn't any easier tho.
 
Troy flip ups I got on the EE, the muzzle device is the Ferfrans CRD. The CRD sends all felt concussion down range and produces huge fireballs.
 
Looks like I might have a hookup for the KAC sights, a friend that lives in the US said he can grab them for me in the US and mail them to me.
