De-resonating hollow plastic stocks

Go to the savage shooters forum to the axis section the scroll Down to gun smithing. The Have the best fix for the axis stock simple easy and CHEAP!!!

I used quickkrete as someone suggested above, it works also ! Makes it feel like a real gun. Shoots better too!
First off, I'd like to thank you all (except Luckybeer) for your input. There's a lot of good ideas and things to think about. I'm expecting the rifle today and once I've had 'er apart and gotten a good look at things, I'll determine how I wish to proceed. I was chatting with a very good friend who gave me an interesting suggestion. I was thinking about wrapping a shaped piece of pine in cling wrap, pouring the quickcrete around that and withdrawing the wood to leave a void as a weight saver. My bud suggested putting one or two pvc tubes in the butt stock to use as both a weight saver AND emergency storage (ie: fishing line and hooks, extra ammo, firestarter, etc.). Depending how the recoil pad is attached (snap-on or screwed) I'm seriously considering it. That would be getting into the "survival rifle" realm which I really don't need anymore (not doing as much wilderness work as I used to), but it would have some good practical applications. Thoughts?

*UPDATE* I hadn't made myself clear enough in my original post regarding the rifle. I was looking for a Savage Axis II and found one on the EE. The seller never replied and in the interim, I found a good fellow gunnut selling a Mossberg Patriot for a very fair price, so I purchased that instead. It just arrived today and I'm quite content, depending on how well it performs of course. There doesn't seem to be as many voids in the Mossberg as in the Savage. Therefore, the plan is to cut a piece of copper pipe as a centre line filler in the butt, use a combination of lead shot and high density spray foam as a filler, and not to worry about the fore end of the stock. It seems comfortably rigid and I really want the weight in the butt to offset the muzzle heavy feel and to eat some of the recoil. The copper will add a little weight and the hollow tube will allow me to add or subtract weight to adjust it to my satisfaction as well as being an emergency storage in case of a zombie apocalypse. Does anyone know if Mossberg provides after-market metal mags for this rifle? In a perfect world, I'd be able to buy a metal mag and mag well component. Barring that, I'd at least like to have a spare mag.

Hi what i use is the low expanding foam , but also cut a length of 3/4'' aluminum tube to fit into the stock and then foam around it, really helps stiffen the stock also.
