No. I had a starter that didn't work so I replaced the starter. And now it works.You did not solve any problem. You replaced the entire trigger system with a new one LOL. That's like finding an oil leak and replacing the engine! job well done, oil leak fixed.
What you are suggesting is to tear the starter apart and spend a ton of time screwing around rewinding the coils only to find the magnets are screwed. I saved time and annoyance and got a better trigger in the end. Totally happy with the result.
