Dealing with VORTEX Warranty has so far been a hassle, please let me know what you...

I can't believe they did not give you the upgrade.I had the 3x9x40 crossfire 2 illuminated it went all fogy the shop i bought it from had none there to replace and it was wright in the middle of hunting season well i was mad .The shop owner called vortex while i was there and they gave me the diamond back 4x12x40 and sent me a vortex sweater and a hat for my trouble.

Not saying there is here but it almost seems like there is a missing element to this story...
I would email them a link to this thread if you are unable to get this rectified over the phone. I sent an email to Vortex explaining that i had lost my "zero-ish stop" shim kit. They sent me a new shim kit pkg with a hat & sticker. You cant get blood from a stone either...if they dont make your scope anymore perhaps they were just trying to get you shooting sooner with a replacement unit, opposed to you waiting for repair work? Dunno, doesnt sound like the Vortex that any of my clan have dealt with.
Maybe pour a good single malt and give them another call, humbly.
Jim

Which is more money?
The upgrade or rings, covers and a sunshade?

I got the leupold 2 piece with the adjustable windage base, its all that was available to me locally and it got me shooting , the upgrade would have been 250 dollars, there is no shade for the 40mm vipers. as I say in the next reply, they basically scoffed at me in talks about the upgrade, like a small chuckle almost, straight telling me I would have to pay the difference.

Funny, I cant tell if you are being sarcastic or not? They basically scoffed at me when I talked of the upgrade, instantly saying I would pay any difference. . No hat, no shirt. Reading some peoples experience with them (If its true) IS actually starting to annoy me lol. Scope and shade cost me 650 out the door when I got it a couple of years ago, and they didnt give me any swag when they returned a different smaller scope to me? Lol.

The difference between a manufacturer dealing with the "little guy" and grandstanding for a shop that sells dozens and dozens of their scopes if not more...... The shop will likely use the swag story to sell more scopes......

Wow. Just bought the Strikefire II for my CX4. I paid more because of the supposed excellent warranty. (As well as the reviews, quality etc.) I hope there isn't a problem with warranty, if I have a problem. Big old "made in China" sticker on the bottom. We'll see.

Yup, their lower tier stuff is made in China or the Philippines IIRC. The higher tier stuff is made in Japan.

Wouldnt worry about it, mine was just discontinued, they replaced it no questions asked, just I had to rebuy some things. I have dealt with a few warranties in my day, this wasnt the worst. They didnt question what had happened nor did they blame me, no questions asked, if they had the same scope, they would have sent it, they didnt, so I got a smaller one. To me it is a principal thing, to them it is a money thing. In the end I did not get ripped off in any way, maybe I was just being particular.... Plus I didnt get some ####ty fitting hat (I am assuming) And a large t shirt that wont fit my gut.

What's the average turn around time for warranty work?
I have to send in my sparc.

It depends on if they're replacing it or repairing it. I sent my Viper PST in for work after I dropped and broke it, took about 5 weeks from the time I mailed it off to Vortex for them to send it to the U.S., have it fixed, and have them send it back to me. If they're replacing it, they'll likely have a new one to you in a week or two. Now, I was going through the store I bought it at, so that might have helped speed it up a bit.
