You could almost buy TWO SR15's for what 5K of that TAP would cost, there is a reason they come in 200! round sealed cases.

True, I always buy in bulk. There is 5.56mm out there, just have to know where to look.

He wasn't talking about an individual ordering it from the states or shipping anything, just similar pricing (probably given the CAD being at par with the USD).

I understand that, but someone has to pay the shipping from the US, since that is where the ammo comes from. It is not apples to apples if you are conveniently ignoring the shipping and import/export costs the dealer has to pick up in order to get the ammo here.
