What would your rifle of choice be to get a dedicated Quality iron sight 22LR trainer in a full size rifle mainly to be used shooting unsupported at 25 yards shooting paper.

I have a few scoped 22lr rifles. But want something to really practice shrinking my iron sight groupings.

Something $1500 or under. Logic dictates a 457 lux, premium or jaguar (which of the three) as I had a few other 457s. But I wouldn’t mind something else either.

Jaguar was my choice, the extra long sighting plain makes shooting small groups at 50 yards very easy, and the long barrel makes them quieter

My first rifle was 452 Lux and it is still my favorite.

Whatever you decide, go for something you can shoulder in the store and see how it feels - one will speak to you! Fit is really important to me with irons as I like to keep the rifle simple without cheek risers or messing with length of pull.

I put this 457 together, 20" American barrel, drilled and tapped for CZ iron sights. Sitting in a varmint stock.
It's a ton of fun blasting clays at 50 yards

Super surprised your able to get your cheek low enough with that comb, I put an iron sight action in a royal stock and there was no way I could shoot it with irons. Better suited in my lux stock for sure.

You don't say action type or type of iron sights, but I use a CIL-Anschutz 190 for just this purpose. Also attached is a pdf of the 75ft small bore target used for 3 position rimfire competition. Print it at 100% and I think it is very close to accurate.
