Deer Hunting In WMU 87A

If you already got your outdoors card then you have to buy 1 year licenses. 3 year comes printed on the card when you renew.
Also, bow season is longer because it is that much harder to get a deer into 30 yards than 200 yards.

I don't understand why bow season is longer? What difference does it make? A deer is still dead. I don't think it matters whether it's been killed by a bow or a shotgun.......it's still dead.

Also, just got my small game license not long ago.......the lady at the window explained that I have to buy a 1 year small game permit, then another 1 year small game permit after the first expires, THEN I can purchase a 3 year small game permit. So at the end of 2016/beginning of 2017 I can buy my 3 year small game permit. WTF? This came about because I was trying to buy the 3 year permit right away. She couldn't give any explanation for the logic behind it but was very friendly and helpful. Is it just a big game of "let's make random rules" or "pick a rule out of a hat" at the higher levels or what?
Bow hunting is hardier. If I could gun hunt for three months I would and could shoot at least 5 to 10 deer with my savage 220. Buy a crossbow. Properties in that area should be easier to get permission and deer are not as pressured and early season deer are dumb bunnies and you should be able to fill your tag if you have a good spot. My savage 220 can get those dumb bunnies out to 125 yards while my excalibur has a range up to 30 yards. Main reason season is 3 months. Bow hunting is not as easy as gun hunting .
