Not all molds are exactly the weight that they advertise. They will vary depending on the maker and a few other factors. I don't worry too much about the weight too much as long as it's consistent.
As for the lead from the old sewer lines, keep the joints separate from the pieces of pipe. They've got high tin content: very nice for mold fillout, but doesn't give very high hardness numbers over pure lead. Keep it and use it sparingly for when you aren't getting good mold fillout, and drop in an ounce or two into the melting pot. It will make your boolits look way purtier. And it's cheaper than having to buy tin in solder from the hardware store.
