Double stack or single?
Time frame?
Geezzz, marstar is going to be getting alot of my money if the come through with these and the M4's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+1 on Armco.
I have a .40 STI Trojan that I bought from Armco and it is a keeper. Gunnar put on an extended mag well and did a great trigger job on it. Great gun and Gunnar was great to deal with.
I suggest if you go with the Trojan that you look into Cobra mags from Tripp Research. Make sure to tell them it is for a Trojan when you order them...
Does Tripp prepare STI Trojan magazines differently than than they do for magazines for other makes or models?
I can't say enough good things about STI myself... I have a 9mm RangerII and it's by far the smoothest semi I've ever fired. The slide glides on the frame like butter and the trigger is just perfect. Feeds deadly reliable as well.
I'd pick STI over any of the other equally priced 1911 manufacturers on the market, any day of the week.
[/I'm leaning towards the Kimber, it's just under the grand mark.QUOTE]
Have you verified that the Kimber is actually available? EROC1 here on CGN was recently looking for a Kimber in .40 and couldn't find one (ended up with a Para and is very happy with it). And now if you go on Kimber's website there aren't any models shown in .40 anymore. Don't know what's up but it almost looks like Kimber is dropping the .40. That's kind of hard to believe given the popularity of the round, but there have been reports of reliability issues with Kimbers chambered in .40.
