Hi guys i have my sr-22 on order from wholesale sports, it should take about a month to come in. I'm just wondering what you guys would reccommend for optics on it, as out of the box it doesn't even have iron sights. I was kinda thinking something along the lines of a reflex or red dot scope. it would really make the gun look great, but would it be accurate and work well? bascially any adive you have would bre greatly appreciated.

I would also be interested in something similar. Got a S&W 15-22 and would like to put on a reliable but inexpensive "tacticool" scope with 3-4x magnification.

Never bought optics so dont even know where to start. Read about NC star, but the reviews are mixed, and other scopes are way out of price range (ideally ~$100 or less....)

Any help would be great.

I have a Millet DMS-1 with Burris PEPR mount. LOVE IT!!

+1 This set-up is exactly what you guys are looking for!

You can pretty much go with any optics that you would mount on a decent rimfire rifle, just make sure to use taller rings. But that being said, it was important to me to keep the tactical look of the gun.

After a whole lot of looking, I settled on the Millett DMS 1-4x 28mm. It is designed primarily for use on an AR and the manufacturer claims that is is suitable for use at ranges from 5m out to 400m. It is a combination CQB sight/4x scope... I think it will be decent both for blasting gophers and some target shooting at the range.

I know a few members here have bought them and everyone seems to be very happy so far. I originally bought Millett tall tactical rings, but ended up buying a Burris PEPR base to be able to mount the scope/sight a little further ahead.

1-4x 28mm, illuminated "dot in a donut" reticle (1 MOA dot inside of an 18 MOA circle), and adjustable illumination. The parallax is factory set for 100m; but with the donut-dot system, the manufacturer claims it is good for any range from 5 - 400m.

low power optics are fun for plinking, but i never liked them for gophers, unless they were right in front of me:)

my minimum magnification range for my rimfires is a 2-7x scope, but a 3-9x would even be better.

if i were spending $350.00 for a rimfire scope, i would want more magnification than 1-4, but then again, i am kind of blind:redface:

I think i'm going to go with a nc star d4b. it's around 50 bucks on ebay. (it's in canada so no border hassels). for now i need some sorta sight as the sr-22 has no out of the box. and i think this sight will gime me the tacticool i'm looking for. eventually though i think i will get a scope like you mentioned it is perfect, but right now i wanna go cheap.

Actually, that sight is not all that bad, had one on my 10/22 and loved it. Two things to look out for, it will shift POI when you change reticules, so chose one and stick with it, and secondly, mine barely lasted a season before the "recoil" from the .22 caused it to keep turning itself off with every shot. I only paid $50.00 for it, and when it worked, it was really a sweet sight. Hope you have better luck. Please post back with your observations, as I am really tempted to pick up another one to see if my first one was just a lemon.

Too bad your waiting so long from WSS. These have been in stock off and on for the last couple of months @$550. We have three left this morning and expect more along with acces. in about 2 weeks. Phil.

damn, thats a nice looking set up! we bit out of the price range for now, anyone know about the quality of Leapers scopes? they are in the $120-160 price range

how about Tasco? $50-120 range

are the cheaper scopes worthwhile or should I just go to the $200+ range because of "you get what you pay for"

P&D carries the scope at a decent price, but they are sold out of that particular mount with 30mm rings, which is what you need for that scope. You may be able to buy the scope form an American dealer on eBay, but it is a violation of US law to attempt to export out of the US... The mount is a different story. Got to Red's Trading Post on eBay and buy the Burris P.E.P.E.R. mount without worry! When I bought mine from them last month, I think I ended up paying just a tad over $100 Canadian (with shipping and taxes) by the time it got to my door.

Thank you, krausb! :) Just ordered the mount from Red's on ebay. :dancingbanana:

Now I need a scope ;) Will accept reasonable offers, lol! :D

I would like to buy the scope and the mount. Who sells the scope and mounts in Canada? Is there any problem if I order the scope and mounts from US ebay?

Both , my scope and mounts were bought from Ebay without any problem.
There are some dealers who don't ship to Canada.Just find the right one.

Regardless of whether or not you managed to do it, what you are suggesting is illegal under US law. Period. That is not opinion, it is fact.

I am going to pick up my scope in P&D this weekend (or may be earlier - if I have time). 299$. ;) I will have a mount and a scope. Just need a rifle to arrive now... Let me see - what's first? Eggs or chicken? Hmmm... Looks like a chicken in my case, lol! ;)

I changed my mind and got a ncstar 1.5-6 40mm with mildot illuminated reticle off a fellow nut here. 80 bucks even should be here in a day or 2 now. still waiting for my sr-22 to come in anyways so not a big rush. so what do u guys think of this scope?
