Biggest difference I know of is that the mk 10 is all aluminum, the one for 597 has a polymer lower. I ordered an mk 10. I think they look better anyways. I'm going to put it up against my benelli m4... the one I like the least will be going for sale. I've always wanted a mag fed semi. .. I hope it's nice
The lower is metal or plastic?
Metal, I believe it's 7075 aluminum
every time I see that brand name I read "Derka" lol
Okay good im not the only one
I want one of these so badly, but I can't pull the trigger until they come with removable chokes to make them as versatile as possible!
So I managed to get a few Derya MK-10s early for me and some friends. They don't cycle very well with 2-3/4 skeet loads unless you put the supplied choke/barrel extention on. I took mine out today for the first time. All I had for ammo was some 3 inch#3 and 3 inch BB. After the first round fired it failed to feed. I had these issue for 10 rounds. I tried another mag and it was the same. Then the bolt wouldn't close when racking a round. I took it home and disassembled the gun. I noticed the gas ring was partially out of the piston slot causing the bolt not to close. I pried it back into the slot and the bolt closed no problem. These guns seem to be of good quality but I'm definitely not happy so far. A gun made for 3 inch shells shouldn't blow rings off of the piston. I'll take it out in the next couple days with my friends Deryas as well and see how things go.
Just received my Mk 10. The barrel states "2 3/4 inch shotshells" and DOES NOT SAY 3" ! ! On the Caliber Mag review of the gun they have a photo of the barrel and it states clearly 2 3/4 inch or 3" shells. MINE IS DIFFERENT ! I checked the Derya Arms website and guess what - it states only 2 3/4 inch and NOT 3".
Now I am confused !
Most dealer websites state 2 3/4" and 3" in their description of the gun, including the dealer I bought from. I contacted my dealer and they stated that they will ask the importer for clarification and will call me back. This afternoon they still did not have any answers for me.
Please have a look at what your barrels says and reply. There may be two versions of this gun, or Derya may have decided to state that it is only safe with 2 3/4 inch shells and changed their barrel inscription. This may have important implications if you use 3" shells and thing go wrong.
Does anyone else have any more information on this issue ?
Does your barrel say 2 3/4 inch or both 2 3/4 and 3 inch ? What is the year of manufacture ?Looks can be deceiving. I now have one in my hands and the finish is MUCH higher quality than I expected. It's probably no Benelli, but it's also half the price. We'll see how it is compared to a Mossberg though.
