Derya TM22 owners only please

Has anyone solved a bolt hold open (without magazine)?
Either aftermarket accessory, manual technique, or combination of?
I have a few ideas but if there's a known "solution" I'd like to hear about it! Thx.

Another short barrel build just came together. Here it is before I chuck some mods at it to perk it up.

My TM-22 has been a major disappointment. Frequent failures to fire seemingly caused by light firing pin strikes. By "frequent" I mean at least 3 or 4 FTFs per magazine. Also, the bolt sometimes fails to go fully into battery. Appears I got a lemon -- only useful as a paperweight. O'Dell has been unresponsive.

I have the all metal TM-22, as well as the Feather I got from IRG. Both are great guns. The Feather was way cheaper, is super light, and it's basically the polymer version of the all metal one, but I think it'd be too late to consider the Feather as you'd have to import since last time I checked they're sold out at the Canadian store. Very similar design but different recoil buffer/buffer tube setup.

SFRC has a sale on right now 14% site wide with free shipping over $200 with coupon code and they always have the best price on the all metal Derya. They only have flat dark earth, red, and blue right now though. The adjustable stock is perfect for smaller shooters, and the current rifles shipping out from SFRC have the updated/improved buffer setup. A friend ordered his several months ago from them and his was updated. Magazines are not expensive for these guns, especially if you know where and when to shop. They're probably on sale elsewhere as well. Last time I looked IRG had the black ones with the fixed stock in stock.

Warrantied by Odell which is another plus.

Definitely an impressive first gun for the money.

Do you happen to know for the updated and improved buffer setup on your friends rifle, did they keep the same white buffer or change that out to something different? I'm curious how they resolved it exactly and if they just kept everything the same but just added their own washer/metal piece to protect the rubber piece from breaking apart?
