hi - quick (perhaps stupid) question ... can you get a conversion kit for the desert eagle l5? ie, to go between 357 and 44? you can for the xix, but nothing i can find for the l5? thanks.
 
They are available. Not sure if they are available in Canada, but Kahr Arms does list L5 barrels for ~$500 each. I assume the magazines are the same, so you then just need the right mags to work.
 
357 and 44 take a different bolt. Also when doing a conversation you should also get the proper recoil springs for caliber.
 
thanks folks. yeah, 357 to 44/50 requires bolt change as well, and nothing that i can find for kits, although i have read that the conversion is possible. perhaps you just have to assemble the parts individually.

i guess at a higher level i'm also trying to sort out what the l5 has in common with the earlier DE's; presume bolts and barrels don't exchange, but how about sights? some springs? you can find a lot of aftermarket for the xix, etc., but nothing for the l5 it seems.
