thanks folks. yeah, 357 to 44/50 requires bolt change as well, and nothing that i can find for kits, although i have read that the conversion is possible. perhaps you just have to assemble the parts individually.
i guess at a higher level i'm also trying to sort out what the l5 has in common with the earlier DE's; presume bolts and barrels don't exchange, but how about sights? some springs? you can find a lot of aftermarket for the xix, etc., but nothing for the l5 it seems.
