Big pigs.

One note: The guy in florida was earnestly surprised by the hog and still managed to kill it with 2 shots out of a .44 magnum.

He didn't creep up behind him and shoot him in the ass (whilst fearing for his life "Death 12 feet away and closing"), and then need 6 more shots to finish it.

Come to think of it, the other pigs dont look like they have 7 holes in them either.

I didn't know hogs could take so much damage. It looked like it would've survived the first shot if they hadn't shot it more.

I use to hunt feral hogs all the time while living in Australia. They do take alot of lead to put them down. The boars are the worse. Some have tusks up to 4-6 inches.

I used a Win 1886 in 45/90 and a Rem 870 with 3" slugs. (prior to 1996).

The worse type of hunting area is low scub bush, It is hard to see the hog and the bush can defect your slug. Coming straight on to you, you need a firearm with gunt, to get thro it's forehead. They are also very quick afoot.

god bless america...

That's all you've got? A smarmy little comment about grammar, and I'll bet you even believe it's an indicator of actual intelligence don't you. You little bug. I wish I could meet you in person. I'd love for you to throw that little pip-squeak attitude up in my face.

The bottom line is; YOU WEREN'T THERE! So until you are faced with a similar situation; clam it! The guy handled the situation and the hog didn't suffer badly. If you think that it did, well, then you have no idea what suffering is. You've got nothing to add.

You remind me of the kind of guy who would watch a video of a firefight in Iraq, and start armchair quarterbacking about how "you" would have "done it." Ridiculous! You have also purposefully ignored all of the analysis of the video.

Hunting for meat = great, giver.

Hunting for sport = Shouldn't include any weapons, only hand to paw/hoof combat. If you want real bragging rights
than you should take down the animal with your bare hands. I just don't understand the sport aspect of shooting
an animal strictly for fun with an expensive rifle or handgun. Is this a manly thing to boast about? - Seems very cowardice to me.

I hope they at least made some bacon from poor piggy...

K2, no it's not.

Gregb, you just have to understand that killing stuff is really, really, really fun. Yes, I know that it's not in nice to say that, but as you can tell, I don't care. I like people, and I respect animals. I'm certainly not going to kill a person, unless they try to harm me or mine, but animals were put here on this earth so that we could kill them, and eat them. It is not wrong to enjoy killing an animal, so long as you do it as quickly and humanly as possible, and eat it after wards. Killing is a huge high. Human being are genetically programmed to kill be cause viewed as animals, we are predators. So, especially when you are hunting an animal that could kill you, the high is doubly-so. What I'm trying to get across is the it's normal to kill. It's natural, and game animals depend upon us doing so or most of them would starve. Killing is fun; bottom line. And if some psychologist tells you differently, well, psychologists are sick twisted homosexuals, so you don't have to listen to them.

Keep trolling buddy, you're really getting the hang of it.

If you truly believe this, you need some help. As part of my job, I've killed more animals then I'd like to admit; it is never "fun" or "a high". I really enjoy hunting; it is a lot of fun. The actual act of killing is not the fun part.
Your posts are disturbing. But I think that's what you want them to be. So ok, you got your reaction. Time to move on.

This thread has gone sideways.

No, No, I really do like shooting, slicing apart, and eating game animals. I like it. It's fun to do. I learned it from millions of years of human evolution. It's not my fault.

You guys are making a mountain out of a mole-hill, IMO. Relax, all said, it wasn't THAT bad, and it WAS kind-of funny; if you'll allow yourself to not be so uptight that is.

- The nervous energy that shrouds the entirety of the encounter.
- The "oh no you didn't response" of the hog.
- The all quiet, and then after he shoots him again, coming back to life; like some kind of Monty Python movie.
- The pure horror of the co*k-up.
- The fact that it looks upon initial inspection to be a worse scenario than it actually is because of camera angles, zoom, assumptions people automatically make.
- The universal human quality of adrenaline-fed, nervous chatter, and laughter in the face of danger.
- The realization that life and death cycles on this planet are more brutal than we like to admit. We will send men to war, but won't watch a game animal meet a timely end.
- The reflection that as "vetted" and "un-shockable" we claim to have become in western society, that the moments between life and death are not widely discussed, and THAT is what is so shocking to many people who watch this video.
- The fact that a dead pig can get a greater emotional response than a news story of a some innocent child being abused on Television.
- The realization that for all the liberal lefts talk about compassion, they eat meat that is dealt with in a more inhumane way than this pig was on a daily basis and then are so condescending as to actually be stirred to lash out against these men in spite of their so called "educated status."
- The fact that many here are judging a scenario that they have not, and never will face with such arrogance; It's funny.

All of these things are funny, and you are weird if you don't see all of this going on under the obvious facade of what you are witnessing in this video, and in this chat about this video.

Some of us got it. But you're wasting your time trying. People who have never buthchered a cow still consider themselves experts on beef because they can buy it in a store. If they ever get the opportunity to partcipate in harvesting meat ( i hate that phrase but it fits here) they are seriously disturbed by the reality - real life is too much for their gentle lieberal souls.

I'm sure most Hunters don't kill animals because it gives them a hard-on - they do it for the meat and because it is a practical means to support/feed your family in most cases. All the hunters I know respect animals. You are starting to scare us dude.

My argument isnt about killing for meat.

I was also particularly amused at the guy who kills animals in a laboratory everyday not being able to make the distinction between that, and an animal that was tracked, and able to die a "fighting chance" death; then giving me morality lessons. It's a sick world, and our complicity with it pushes it to a point where you have to laugh to keep from crying. This was a funny video after all. It's, at the end of the day, so much "not worse" than what "civilized" and "educated" people do everyday from the sterility of their fortresses of solitude.

P.S. I posted a video about starving old people in Zimbabwe the other day; 0 response. And look at this; OVER A PIG; it's a sick world. LOL. You know what the shortest prayer is in the world? "Fu*ck it!" It means: "It's out of my hands!"
