Desert Eagle XIX .44 or .50 ???

I was thinking the .44 would be a better daily shooter, but if you also collect I'd say the .50AE would be more collectible.

Hell, it also fits in nice with your handle, so I guess you should get the .50AE and order a small ammunition reserve.

DE is overkill to the extreme, so is the .50AE goes hand in hand. :)

100% - DE in .44Magnum / .357Magnum (If we were in the USA I'd say go .50AE)

I apologize for going against the grain on this one ;)

Get it though!! I've always wanted a DE :D

I have a Mk I in 44 Mag...cheaper to feed. If you are getting a new Mk XIX I'd get a 44 mag but get the extra 50AE barrel...they swap out in the Mk XIX. I think the mags are the same as well. Mine will only cycle with hot loads and they are kind of picky with bullet types...ie they like jam. I've found something that works and haven't had a jam since.

If you reload then the .50AE is the way to go. If you don't reload yet, then maybe the .44 would be good. Once you start reloading though (and eventually you will;)) then you can buy the .50AE barrel. The DE is a super fun gun. Every time I bring a new shooter to the range I start with the small stuff and work them up to the "Fiddy". They always leave with a smile.:)

Just get a S&W 500: more power, more reliable, and you can use less expensive cast bullets.

Owning both the D.E. 50 AE & the S&W 500. Hands down the 50 AE is my most favorite firearm of all time, plus was my first ever purchase. Also the only thing you will need to down grade the D.E. 50 AE to make it shoot the 44mag is a new mag and barrel. That being said 50 AE is not hard to find just expensive if you don't reload. Give Joe a call @ italian sporting goods and he can get some for ya.

If you want to get a Desert Eagle go for the .357 or .44, as the .50 is a complete piece of ****. They're fine for paperweights, but awkward to shoot, expensive to feed, and they tend to jam unless you have wrists of iron.

If I had a disposable $2000 I'd go for a black Mk XIX in .357 :yingyang:

I was looking at some kits online.... 357/44/50 all in one package..... and a bargain too at only $4500!!!

Seriously tho, Whn I eventually buy a DE it will probably be one of the "kits" with 3 calibre or 5 caliber options....... just cause I can :D

It's not the expense of the rounds that bothers me... Its finding them, If its hard to get the ammo then that is what will discourage me... I could care less about reloading also so if complete factory rounds are impossible to get then I should go .44.... I also have a question, someone told me that factory .44 rounds aren't hot enough to make the DE cycle, so as I said before I'm not into reloading so if this is going to be a problem then maby this gun isn't for me.... Feedback on this would be appreciated...
