Desert Eagles are hilarious

Sweet! Isn't someone selling .357 ones for dirt cheap? around a grand? Either way, No one needs a Ferrari/Porsche/Viper/Vette but im guessing more than half of the members here wouldn't mind crusing to the range in one. Same with this pig. Its so impractical it makes you want it more. If I was getting one Id go all out and get different calibres. And it would have to be shiny.

500 S&W revolver at the range last summer. The fellow had a crowd around him and fired a few rounds (3 to be exact, as they obviously were painfull/uncomfortable). He was laughing and trying to shrug it off but wasn't too convincing. He then offered it to the crowd with a laugh, and not 1 person took his offer. So, 3 rounds downrange and then put it away without any more laughing. He soon left afterwards.

The DE has always struck me as a hollywood handgun, big, ominous, gold plated if needed, easily weilded with one hand, and drop dead dangerous.

I kinda put it in the same category as the dudes who drive the jacked up pickups who never go offroad. Too each there own. YMMV.

Here's one of my vids that shows the flames. Most of the time the flash happened in between video frames so you can't see it until I went through frame by frame and pulled out the still shot.

Watch my son shoot it at the very end of the video. Awesome.
The boom and the shock wave are so impressive, that's why you hear everyone going wow and laughing.

Bullet Tooth Tony: Now, dicks have drive and clarity of vision, but they are not clever. They smell p#$$y and they want a piece of the action. And you thought you smelled some good old p#$$y, and have brought your two little mincey ###### balls along for a good old time. But you've got your parties muddled up. There's no p#$$y here, just a dose that'll make you wish you were born a woman. Like a prick, you are having second thoughts. You are shrinking, and your two little balls are shrinking with you. And the fact that you've got "Replica" written down the side of your guns...
And the fact that I've got "Desert Eagle point five O...Written down the side of mine... Should precipitate your balls into shrinking, along with your presence. Now... F#*K OFF! "

There are 3 types of people: Dicks, pussys and and a**holes. Pussys think everyone can get along and dicks just want to f**k all the time without thinkin' it through. But then you got your a**holes Chuck, and all the a**holes want it to s**t all over EVERYTHING! So pussys might get mad at dicks once in awhile because, pussys get f**ked by dicks. But dicks also f**k a**holes Chuck! And if they didn't f**k the a**holes you know what you'd get!? YOU'D GET YOU #### AND YOUR PUSSY ALL COVERED IN s**t!

I rented a 44 DE several years ago with some other toys and put 100 rounds down range. It was very accurate but it did jam 3 or 4 times. It's cool and badass but you can't do anything other than take it to the range now and then. I had way more fun withthe 941 that day.

I also don't agree that a g17 is just as useless as a DE in Canada. You can do IPSC/ipda with the g17 and have lots of fun. You can certainly get what you like but a "normal" pistol has more uses that just shooting at the range.

Just my .02

...When I pulled it out of the case, I literally began cracking up. The size of the grip, the sheer weight of the beast, it just screamed impracticality. Totally awesome and completely intimidating at the same time....

That is EXACTLY the same reaction I had when I got mine.... :D:D:D

I was at the range and a guy next to me had a .500 S&W and he was talking to someone about the first time he shot it. The recoil caused him to squeeze off another round which went through the ceiling, I looked up and there was a half inch hole :D
WoW!
I have a 500 S&W and a D.E 50 AE and the 50 AE can be shot 1 handed but the 500 I treat it like a 12 3&1/2" magnum shotgun and brace for impact. Although this guy must have been a real noob:owned:
Oh ya the DE and a EoTech at 25 meters can make :) faces :p

I watched someone do the exact same thing with a S&W 460V, was pretty damned funny. The look on his face was priceless.

I had the .44 and the weight of the gun tamed full power loads so much it felt not much different than my .40 S&W. Decided for the amount of time I had to shoot it, truck accessories outweighed the bragging rights of owning a DE. It's since gone to a good home (for the asking price, and not to some broke-ass live-at-home pimple faced videogaming lowballing loser either (you know who you are)).

Having shot both the .460/.500 big mutha revolvers and the Desert Eagle, I can say that DE's are surprisingly soft to shoot. Can be fired one-handed with no difficulty so long as your hand is big enough. Big-boy noise, flash and power, with gentle, understanding recoil :D Definitely not to be confused with the mammoth recoil from a .500S&W... to me that is just unpleasant and I wouldn't fire it for free, let alone for what it costs.

This is a gun where it is great to have a FRIEND who owns one. Wouldn't buy one myself, but once in a while it's nice to put a few rounds through it!

+1 for a story about a guy at our range who shot a hole through the lights with a Smith and Wesson 460 after the big recoil and smooth trigger reset caused him to shoot twice.

This one was in Winnipeg and I've seen the sheet metal from the light and the story was retold by the range's owner so I take it to be credible.

Is this an epidemic among big caliber Smith revolver shooters?
