Did you ever wonder what half a ton of .223 ammo looks like in the back of a pickup?

Why? He isn't hauling commercially, just a private citizen driving his personal property to his home in his own vehicle.

If you overload your personal truck and its noticeable, then your fair game to the transport cops.
(Not saying his truck isn't built to take that weight)

Nice score on the crates though. You will be laughing a few years down the road when the price is double.

Fair enough, but 1000lbs shouldn't overload any full sized truck (of course, I don't know what OP is driving). I agree, if the bumper is nearly dragging then you may attract unwanted attention.

I was watching pretty closing as I was loading the truck, having been quite prepared to make two trips. To my horror, the suspension handled it with plenty to spare -- making me wonder, for just a flicker of a moment, whether I was in fact buying enough ;)

At least you know you have capacity for a bigger order the next time around! ;)

Take another pic of it all loaded into a stack of 6,400 PMags and then we'll KNOW you are an independently wealthy Prepper of the highest order. LOL!!

I think what you have there will most likely show better return than the same amount invested in RRSP's.

Not to get far off this topic, but along the lines of storage amount: My 78yr old Dad still laughs when he talks about his "now deceased" boss. This Boss was a huge gun nut and reloaded almost anything. He had two old fridges full of gun powder. He always said: "If my house catches fire, I`ll tell the fire department: it will only burn so far down.....then it is only going to go up".
