From what I been told DND want to go to a MMR type rail system, but they want to retain the FSB because they wait to use existing barrels.

So a shorter mrr with reused barrels still means CC isn't making FSB barrels.

They were made by cc originally but yes, trade in.

CC is under contract to provide spare parts to DND. If they need to make a run of barrels with FSB they will do so.

No, but when it comes from CC directly, in person and by internet, I put some weight to it.

Specifically that colt Canada isn't making FSB C8s anymore and have moved into full IUR producting for future contracts.

Nah,
If DND wants an IUR with an FSB due to the fact they hold thousands of barrels in stock CC will comply.
That's why the C7A3 prototypes had them. CC wont build an MRR minus a barrel and send it to the CF.
All they have to do is retool and supply what their largest customer wants.
