Diemaco C8 worth the price?

Well I'll believe it when I see the targets with 5 shot 1 inch groups at 100 yards. Sorry for sounding like a #### but there's a whole lot of BS on this site.

No one should be calling you a #### for being skeptical, there is a lot of BS here I totall agree. But you live in Vancouver right? If you get a chance next year, go out to the BCRA shoot in Chiliwack and you’ll probably see these guys pulling off those groups. I’m a pretty bad shot, and my eyes are terrible, but out of ten shots at 500m, 3 were v-bulls and 7 were fives. That was my first time EVER shooting at 500m. That was with the mag dug into the grass (and no other support really), with the issue Elcan (that does nothing for me at 500m because my eyes are so crappy the entire target sheet was a fuzzy dot). I’m willing to bet if I had a bipod or sandbags, my Bushnell HDMR and a scope leveller on there, I would have had all V-Bulls.

To make it clear to all here though, I am NOT defending the $2,099 MSRP for this rifle, all I am stating is the C7 is good rifle. Personally, I’d like to pay $1300-1500. $2,099 cannot happen without my wife taking my balls. Also, I just wish I could take it out on crown land because there are no local 500m ranges to practice on my own time.

Canadian market is so small and quantities ordered are too.

This is what reflects the pricing on firearms in general in the Canadian market. Everyone keeps comparing pricing to the US market, but you have to remember they have 10 times the population we do, which makes it a bigger market in which to sell products. At SHOT Show a few years ago a Remington rep., but it bluntly. All of Canada sells as many rifles and shotguns as a small state like Rhode Island or Delaware. There is large US Distributors that buy more than all of Canada. So in the grand scheme of things it is just a drop in the bucket. He also said quite frankly it's not worth their time because it is such a small percentage of their business. If they didn't sell rifles and shotguns to Canada and it won't effect the bottom line. But Remington is after global brand recognition and thats why they do it.

If that is the case then Canadian pricing should be the same as that in Rhode Island and Delaware.

New adjusted price at certain retailers. Reliable Gun has the SA20 for $1,799.99, didn't see the SA15.7 on their website. This didn't look like a sale price as it its not marked as such. Looks like a new Regular Price. Al Flaherty's has the SA20 on sale for for $1,799.99 down from $2,099. They've got the SA15.7 on sale for $1,999.99 down from $2,299.

I'm sure we'll be seeing other retailers cutting their prices.

Yes of course you are ignoring the fact that a big distributor in the US sells to all 50 states. A big distributor in Canada sells to the equivalent of 2 small states. See the difference?

I went to Rocky Rod & Gun Club saturday and my first five shots of the day were a 5 inch group at 600m with my Savage 10TR. Rack #49 at my Garrison has never shot better than 2moa for me. In all fairness, God-only-knows how many rounds have been through it and we don't get issued match grade ammo. At least some people on this thread can vouch for the C7's accuracy. Do I want a Colt C7? Yes! Do I want to pay $2000+ for it? F@¢# no!
As for "supporting the home team", more than half the income from my 3 jobs goes to the gov't and I've sworn an oath to defend this country with my life. Anyone who wants to say I'm unpatriotic for buying a cheap foreign copy can commence self-fornication.

Whether or not it's "worth it" is a personal decision. This mil discount from Korth is a game changer, so tomorrow, I'll call them and decide whether it's worth it for me.

Now post some range results or STFU.

The plot thickens yet again...

Like I said before these guns were not selling but people we're quick to tell me other wise. Price adjustment is the proof. There were only 490 of each too.....
This price adjustment is a slap in the face to the people who paid full retail price.
Korth can go #### themselves. Wonder if hey will do a mail in rebate for the poor saps who paid full pop.

Just for fun I'm going to compare a new $850 nea15 against a c7. I'll do 100 & 500 meter ranges and the yearly qualification (pwt 3)shoot.

Would be interesting if others did similar shoots.

Nope.

If that's the case, small US distributors would have Canadian pricing.

That's the excuse that automakers use to justify higher Canadian prices.
I'm not saying the Canadian distributors or retailers are the cause.

And so you choose to ignore the fact that small US distributors are many times the size of the largest Canadian one. OK. We are not talking automakers here, so I am not sure what your comparison means.

Colt Canada is the same company as Colt USA, so why can we buy Colt USA guns for a little over a grand and these rifles are double that and then some? The CC rifles are made on the same lines and with the same parts as contract guns no? There is no additional cost to make these, so why the price difference? I've been made privy to the MIL/LE pricing and its a slap in the face for those who don't have the credentials. I can see CC is eager to sell to the public:bsFlag: The mysterious price adjustments some are reporting just add to the slimy tactics being displayed by two players here... Just saying.

I'm sure the adjusted prices have nothing to do with the very public questioning of their original pricing..

You're way off base. The comparison is a joke. NEA doesn't hold a candle to anything CC, Colt USA, DD, BCM, LMT, KAC, hell even Shrubmaster or DPMS put together. The barrel is but one component, its the quality of the components that is being debated here, not the design. If your NEA functions I'm sure it will print decent groups, but I doubt it will last as long as any of the above mentioned brands. Again, no one is disputing that the CC rifle is decent shooter and well made. The debate is whether or not the extreme price tag is justified, and its not. Based on specs its grossly over priced. Based on the MIL/LE discount, its over priced. Based on the sudden price "adjustments" it is over priced.
