Canada Ammo--what was the issue you were hoping to address
with the new website?

I much preferred the old website. It worked
and I could find and order items easily.

There is no shame in going back to the old design.

Using IE 11 and the top banner is cut off.

Besides that, I hate the layout.
To be blunt, it looks like someone fresh out of web programming school that just learned all the flashy tricks and wanted them to all be in one site because it would look so awesome. The only thing missing is the auto playing video AD with the volume blaring.

Cut your losses and roll back.

I appreciate your opinion.

If you would provide some specifics, perhaps there is something I can address. This is a work in progress and I did not expect to please everyone immediately.

Thanks

You shouldn't have roll out the new site without fully testing for compatibility. Pretty basic stuff.

I don't understand why anyone even uses IE or Firefox any more.

People still use Internet explorer?

Overall IE 11 is currently the fastest browser available. Maxthon for me!

Using Win7 and IE 11, everything seems to be working as it should at a 16:9 resolution. Having said that, I find the way the site works to be really annoying,
with all of its hover-over and pull-down menus. I assume they are great for people who use touchscreens, but for anyone not using a handheld device, they suck.

This site would be great as a mobile-specific setup, say mobile.canadaammo.com. Perfect for people who would get in trouble for personal browsing at work,
or for those in stinky companies like mine whose servers block all the cool stuff directly.

Something that may make searching for items more smooth would be ditching the 'filter' by manufacturer, and replace it with 'sort' by manufacturer.
Also, having a 'sort by featured' function seems pretty useless, as I doubt few care what you are 'featuring', as sorting by price or calibre are the most direct way to find specifics.

If the 'featured' thing is something you want to hang on to, I would recommend ditching it as a sort category, and instead switching to a filter or a tab for 'sale' items,
or for the really cool CanAm 'combos' like the unbelievable Outlaw combo.

A bit of category cleanup (or a few more subcategories) is in order, too; for example, the 'outdoors' category it is rife with cross-category items and things that do not belong like fireams, range bags, targets and holsters.

A few tweaks should make the new site more user friendly, feel more like a shopping tool, vs. a tool used to point me at what it is you want me to buy from CanAm.

Its a responsive web design for multiple screen size use and is not going to be perfect. It works good on a tablet and Mac running Safari 8.0.2 and Chrome. If people are complaining about its use on IE 8 or 11 then they need to upgrade to Chrome or Opera or Safari. Its a good start, just needs to be tweaked.

It is wonky on my iPad and has been since the email announcement. The old site was slow but at least it was easy to navigate. This new one is not an improvement. Here is what I see using safari when I scroll down to try and find some ammo. When I click on rifle ammo or handgun ammo I get nothing...nothing happens...(and which category is rimfire ammo located in? Rifle or handgun?)...this can't be what the developer was aiming for is it?

Can you provide some specifics of the device and software you are running.

Rimfire is found under both rifle and handgun ammo.

Thank you everyone for your input. I am having a meeting next week to discuss these concerns and some other matters regarding the new website.

I appreciate your patience and understanding while we work on solutions to the issues you have addressed.

:nest:Chrome or Opera or Safari is a downgrade! :nest:

I remember when they might have been good, but now most are just a bloated with crap, chrome not so bad. FF used to be fast, now I find it slower than IE.

I'm running safari 8.1.3 ( just made sure what I was running)on my IPad the only hoverovers that work are the last ones.
Ammunition I can touch and view shotgun ammo.
Firearms I can touch and view shotguns.
Acc. I can touch and view knives.
If I want to see anything else I need to touch and "view all"
I'd be surprised if you haven't lost orders because of the issue's people are having with your new site.

An ipad2 ios8 browsing with safari. Hope that helps.
I feel for you guys. Must be a crappy feeling to spend hard earned money on something that is supposed to be an upgrade and awesome but seems more like the opposite!
Don't worry too much. All of us may complain and fuss and clamour but we all know deep down inside that once you get your website sorted out, we'll be back like junkies looking for our fix!

You ll figure it out and none of us are going anywhere lol. You guys have a good business and a few wks of website issues doesn't change that.

I haven't seen an issue yet. Actually quite like the new layout (to each his/her own I guess). It seems pretty intuitive, click on a category>filter results>results delivered>purchase. Not sure how others shop but this seems pretty slick to me. Zero hiccups, on a win 7, up to date chrome 1600x900 display. Also works fine on my Nexus 5 and my iPhone 4s.

seems to display properlly on my 2560x1600 Monitors I think as with most sites it took to a Mobile format which Is clunky but must say I can browse the sight properlly.

... but My guess might be even the new Site is actually more input friendly from Staff compared to old one ala new products, item updates, item removal and etc

Generally speaking, if a website is programmed so that everything is displayed properly within Internet Explorer, it is almost guaranteed it will work in most other browsers. A number of my friends have taken programming in college and this is the #1 lesson they are taught. If it is also programmed so that it can determine the browser or device type prior to full connection to the user, it can direct them to the proper layout (m.canadaammo.com vs canadaammo.com etc)

If you are revamping the site a bit, may I please suggest that the "Show In Stock Items Only" applies to the entire time on the site rather than every category I open?

I bought a lot of stuff from Canada Ammo. Firesarms, ammo and accessories.
I used to browse it daily. Now I don't bother as I can't see it on me home pc which is where I do most of my shopping.
I can see it on my Note 3, but I'm not into staring at phone for an evening.

:mad::mad:I did not think I would be posting another comment?? But I just placed another order and the site would not let me change my payment info to another card and the order when confirmed by e-mail did not specify the colour I wanted????? And of course I could not print out my original order as placed????? Combined with those , it seems like getting worse pop ups!! This site is so bad I just don't have the words...............

Reminds me of when Coke changed their formula .
At least they were smart enough to bring back the original
