Dillon Does it Again

Slavex

Rob as you likely know the 1050 is considered a commercial press and I believe has a one year warranty vs a lifetime on the 650 and 550 which are considered retail or hobby machines.

I bought my 550 used and had a very old powder measure break a part . Dillon sevice counter didn't even look at it. They had a complete replacment measure on the counter before I started to tell them how it broke.

Take Care

Bob

If every business operated like Dillon, I would be happy to spend more money in a lot more places. There customer service is the standard at which all other companies should look towards when developing their own plans.

Dillon has been nothing but friendly help to me every time I have called. When something on my 550 breaks, or more likely, I break something, I almost get excited calling Dillon, because I know that they know how to treat their customers right. I always hang up the phone with a smile and the thought...."I wish every other store was as pleasant to deal with as Dillon"

Hats off to Dillon!

They also rebuilt the 550 that I sold to my friend.

When I upgraded my 550 to 650, I sold my 550 to my friend. He wasnt too happy with the way the press worked, called up Dillon and Dillon had him ship the whole press to them.

Back came a rebuilt 550. I saw it sitting on his reloading room and it looked like a brand new 550.

I believe I was more impressed than him as the press never looked that good when I had it. He was really happy and wouldnt even sell it now to another friend of mine looking for a 2nd hand (it would have been 5th hand at this point) reloader.

If that doesnt give you confidence with Dillon, nothing would convince you.

Dillon presses are NOT that expensive either...

I just got a conversion kit for my new .40 SW. and where else would I get my stuff from ? Dillon ..... they earned my business twice over.

if only they'd do something decent for the crappy 1050 shellplate I have. It's cracked around one of the case positions and they want to charge me $100 USD to purchase and ship it.

I would call them on this one again, explain to them that you do nto use it for commercial reloading, they should help you out, or call the Reloaders Bench, they are great to deal with, they will help you out.

I had issus with a square deal be that I bought, Dillon asked me to send it back, I did and it came back to me completely rebuilt, they even callend before they sent it back and asked what load I was laoding and they set it all up for me, so when it arrived, I mounted it to the bench and started relaoding, it worked perfectly.

Send me a PM and I'll see what I can do....

What caliber and is it a 1050 or a super? (I know there is technically no difference I know they have made some different plates for Supers that will not fit the older presses) I have one for 9mm...

Did it crack on because of the positioner rod or something else?

it just cracked, no other position has done it, just the one. I can't figure out why either. 9mm RL 1050.

They Sent the Wrong Part .. Aarrgh....

I called them up again but didnt tell them about the mistake.

I said I wanted to order the Spring (they sent me the right part # for the wrong machine).

Said I was just going to order the spring and the locator pin (they sent me the brass tip set screw), put the order in and AGAIN SAID "We'll cover it under warranty".

They sent the last package Priority Airmail and will do the same for this one. :dancingbanana:

Somebody pinch me and buy me a lottery ticket !

Their customer service is certainly impressive... But Dillon probably isn't licensed to print money, so who's paying for all the "no questions asked" instant replacement policy and airmail delivery? You're paying for it up front when you buy their products, hence why the Dillon stuff is a little more than the competition.

When Dillon first got into the business his products were 1/3 the cost of the competition and of better quality because was selling direct out of the factory. Dillons hobbies include collecting and flying surplus fighter jets and feeding some rather expensive machine guns. The increase in price probably reflects the cost of the hobbies rather than the cost of repairs.
Dillon stuff very seldom breaks even with operator error.
