I hope that you're able to get that loaner RCBS auto-progressive so you can review it and have all of the big four in your article.

1) I hope so too! So far no one has offered... I may "bite the bullet" and pick one up used ... one of these years.

2) as HKMark23 has pointed out, yes on the LNL. I would think not so much on the 650. It would be possible, but the machine is quite busy on the right side and access is awkward.

I just purchased a Hornady LNL progressive press and after a month, I think (hope) it will work out. I bought it for loading 5.56/.223 and on the very first case, I broke the drive hub. Called Hornady and they said it was a weak link that should fail before any damage occurred to the overall press. The case was lubed and the only friction came from the neck expander ball, there didn't seem to be much force involved.

They were quick to send a new part and things seem to be working well. It took a while to adjust the indexing and get a hang of how the priming system works. I think this will be a good press, once it is used a little more.

Your not happy with the 650? Would you mind elaborating? I am about to pull the trigger on a 650 myself and would love all the feed back I can get.

Just got my LnL and in the process of putting it together. One thing I noticed on the press is that the lock nut for the shell plate is different then the one shown in their video, and mine has not wire that sits on top of the shell plate.

The wire went away in 2009, in favour of the "ez ject" system. I still use the wire - might upgrade this year.

This might also explain the different lock nut.

Hornady Wows

Had a lot of trouble with my LNLoad Progressive, Crushes the outside of the brass on 38s , 45s, 44s. All straight case brass it seems. Sent it in for warrenty in the begining of June and just got off the phone and there still looking at it. Glade its not to complicated. I'm sorry i didn't go Dillon.
By the way its now Aug 8.

i just wish i could find one locally that i could buy.
all the local hornady dealers here have lousy service, and don't stock them.
anyone know where i can buy one off the shelf here in BC?

I'll be putting mine up for sale soon, because I never use it as a progressive. Mine's not the "ammo plant" just the base press and regular attachments.

I pick up directly from Henry's shop and I know that he's very good with his customers. I think he's working on getting the credit card stuff. Hornady has great customer service and a main distributor (wholesale only) in Canada that will take care of any issues. I think Henry's already sold a few of these, so maybe someone else who's dealt with him can let you know their experience. I've bought many items and never any concerns. [Same thing with John (or Brad) at Custom Reloading (CRS), but I think they deal Dillon.] It's a great progressive, hope it works out for you.

henry is golden, no worries. my 1st order i picked up (($800++)) since then, just order and wait for the truck. I should not have worried.
