Dillon RF100 Primer Filler

'Blast shield off'??? Do you enjoy the use of your fingers? Do you like the look of a pockmarked face? Sorry, but I will heed the advice of Ed Matunas (author of several reloading manuals and former Winchester employee) who advised to cut any and all stacked primer feed systems off at the base with a hacksaw.

:jerkit: Oh my god i'm going to die!!!!!!!!!! :jerkit:

I own the Mr. and the Hornady... I have not played with the RCBS but would definatly buy the mr. bullet feeder... if your near me you can come try both, or I will lend out the Hornady if you want to try it... :)

Jojopinto: You might not die, but stand a chance looking like your avatar. By the way, how many reloading manuals have you written? Ever employed by Winchester?

You worry too much is my point... Are you scared to drive also it's a wee bit more dangerous than reloading.... just cause a guy wrote a book doesn't make him a expert on anything...

I have no problem looking like my dog in my avatar the chicks dig him and say he is cute... :D

2 things ..

About damn time you got your 1050 and RF 100 .. :D

And, yes, you now need a bullet feeder and autodrive. Both mine are going now and it is sweet!

A bullet feeder I would do, but auto-drive scares me. The case feed screws up every so often and I wouldn't want the auto-drive crunching the brass. Then again I'm on a 650 not a 1050, so there might be differences.

It has an adjustable slip clutch...I've dented a few cases but that's about it

I ran 400 rounds through last weekend. Not one case issue. Worst problem for me is bullet feeding reliability. Gotta tweak the Hornady feed die a bit I think. But it rocked!

Hmm, with small pistol mine works great.

I just switched to large pistol and can't get the sob to feed federal.

Do you mean that the primers are not moving around enough in the RF100? You may need to adjust the level of vibration depending on the primers.

I find with federal there is no sweet spot on mine, I started putting a rubber band around the machine and the drop tube to take the excess vibration out of it as the federals are so light and it fixed the issue, federals feed not bad this way....

I was too late to get a Franklin Arsenal unit, and too cheap to splurge $$ on a RF100, so I made a loader out of a Lee AutoPrime, primer loading tubes that came with my LnL, and a vibrating motor from a dead cellphone:

Works like a charm. ;)

aridan.... brilliant!

Right down to the three dabs of hot-melt glue, power jack and switch.... brilliant!!

When I show people how reloading can be done on my XL650, picking up primers is probably the least-impressive part; it sure isn't the part that I look forward to.

Mines the earlier version without the rheostat.

With the large Federals, they hit the opening then tip and jam.

I should put the machine on a slight incline and see if that fixes it.....

Dillon sells the rheostat for the older units, any thoughts of that?

Personally I could never imagine myself going back to the old pickup tubes, love my RF100.
