Dillon RF100 Primer Filler

I added it to mine, it sure did fix allot of the issues I was having, you can wire in a dimmer switch and have the same resault...

The on off button on mine failed after three months and I just received a replacement from Dillon...I hooked up a dimmer switch in line when I was waiting for it to come in the mail and it worked well...

Yeah, but that could be done for under $10 in parts from Home Depot, where would the fun in that be? ;-) (Sorry, registered card-carrying CheapBastard (TM) here, grimacing at the thought of a $30 pricetag for the out-of-the-box-from-Dillon solution...)

(I would be curious if somebody could post a photo of the data plate of the RF100 motor...? I am curious if it is the sort of motor (DC, "universal", etc) that can be easily and properly speed-controlled with a dimmer switch, or if it is a motor type that needs special speed control circuitry)

OK, so I wired in a dimmer switch and was skeptical.

I played with it for an hour, and it seems to work.

Another thing I learned while reading about other peoples trouble shooting efforts was to leave the bottom screw loose. The screw that holds the adapter in place needs to be left out enough to allow the insert to float a bit.

With the dimmer switch, I found I could slow it down a bit, and speed was a part of the problem. When a huge parade of primers lined up past the second reject slot, it would jam. When the speed was set a bit slower, it worked better.
