Disappointed in .22 rimfire options... Need some ideas.

Savage BSEV. Made in Canada. Install thicker bottom metal. Put on a 20 moa EGW base from Hirsh Precision and a good Sightron SIII scope. Have a swivel post put on so you can install a Harris bi-pod or get a good tripod. Get a brick of CCI standard velocity 40 grain rounds and then enjoy. Good looking gun that will hit anything you aim at.

Some guys don't shoot too good no matter what the gun is capable of. I guess I'm one of them as my Annie 64 sporter doesn't shoot any better than my Anschutz 190 or either of my CZ's. Minute of a gopher's eye at 50 yrds is good enough for me. Most guys on here should be olympic contenders by the super accuracy stated.

You guys must not be able to read

Savage Mark II TR..... A fine rifle at around 500$

Quoted form the op:
"I have had several Savages, and since stepping up to the CZ's I will never go back."

I dont blame him either. I wont own another savage even if it was given to me.

I would Look into either an anschutz or a cooper

I have read too many reviews that said the 64 didn't shoot much better than their CZ's......

For twice the price? And those giant stocks are hideous IMHO. LOL

The Match 64s tend to be a significant step up from garden variety 64s. My MSR will print 1/4 inch groups at 50 yards all day long with the right ammo (Eley club or Lapua SK match IIRC).

I just got a new 64 MPR today, putting it together now, will know how it shoots in 2-3 days and will tweak it from there on if needed.
I got an old marlin 81 that holds 3/4" 5 shot at 100yard with a 10x scope and center X... so it better beat that :D

Love my 81s! To the OP, maybe a 452 FS or a 16" American? Still have money for glass then and have something different and accurate. I also like the 40x idea.

+1, superb sporter rimfires.

I'm all about the coopers myself......But i have a sako quad aswell, put a lilja 20 inch barrel it,This thing will bury any anchutz iv came across!! Buy a cheap sako quad on EE(lol) sell the barrel, purchase a lilja barrel! youll have the best 22 money will buy in my books!! lilja makes barrels for Quad no smith required...ready to rock an roll on Dan lilja's shelf

Shot at the range a couple weeks ago with a guy that had a Sako Quad. Holy crap it was a chore to sight in as he didn't have the intsruction book on how to adjust the scope. If you buy one be sure you get the instructions, will save you a lot of time and frustration.

Scary!
The other day at my range, a young man was ready to give up as he could not hit his target and had left his laser sighting device at home.
Bore sighted at 25 yards, first shot was high and right. Holding the scope on the original aiming point, the cross hairs were moved to the point of impact.
He was now on at 25, on at 100 and on at 200.
It is so simple most people will not believe it.

That's if the scope is mounted correctly.

For a 1K precision rimfire it's so hard to beat CZ. If you're bored with the CZ thing I can't think of anything better than the Quad for the price range.

If you really want precision, you're no where near an Anschutz M-54, but if you can up the budget a bit more you might get into a used Remington 40X or Cooper 57M if you can find one.

Well I ended up with a CZ 452 Varmint and a Bushnell Elite Tactical 5-15x40.

Fit the budget perfectly and figure this is the CZ that started all the hype so Ill see how she can do. If accuracy isn't satisfactory I think the next one will be a Quad.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Good choice, but seeing you have other CZ'z I would have gone for a FS with iron sights just for laughs.
