Lately there have been quite a few discounted AR-15 on the market, some say it is due to saturation of the market, primarily in the U.S.! I believe that is the case, so the rest of the manufacturers can't be far behind and the ones that already jumped in the discount pool will likely be bringing more to the party!!
So, what do you folks think? Of the deals so far, which is the best/worst? Maybe we can keep this thread open as things progress so the shooters in the know about ar style rifles can chime in on the good and the bad. As you can guess , myself and others CGNers will benefit from this by making our first AR buy, a smart one!
Cheers Bob

I agree it's a buyers market right now.
I remember when Colt 6920's were $2699 when found. I'm glad that I sold it at the right time or I would be pretty upset.
Personally I'm not really willing to buy from Irunguns as I question how they will provide warranty services and timelines... I remember seeing some threads that are no more that really did not leave a warm an fuzzy. Some complained about the finnishes on them also. But it's a good value to some. I don't think we will see major price drops on KAC as I think they are priced pretty decent for what you are getting especially when compare to the Colt Canada C8/C7. I think those will see a price decrease if distributer changes.

The Colts via IRG stand out as some of the best deals I've seen in recent weeks. It seems like almost weekly we see a new deal on ARs of all different sizes and manufacturers...it is a terrific trend and I hope it continues but as production gets scaled back down in the coming months, I think prices will stabilize. IF YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING TO GET INTO THE AR GAME, NOW IS THE PERFECT TIME. DO IT!

Running fool I agree that this is clearing out the warehouse and an interim deal till the production is scaled back! It ddnt take long, IRG just announced another price drop although they didn't say how much! Let the games begin, and if yo guys see something outstanding, spill the beans here and tell us why it is better than the rest!
Combat Medic, I understand your concerns, and am a bit hesitant but I think I would take him at his word ( if I buy from him) and hope he keeps it!

Anyone that buys a Norinco AR15 these days is on crack....lol $525 for a DPMS Oracle, $699 for a PSA Midlength with SS barrel, $1000 for a Colt 6920....crazy good deals.

dpms panther $525 plus shipping and for me 5% tax!! IRG draws first blood in the second and hopefully not last round of AR discounts! Tell me the good and bad of this particular brand/model! There are lots more shmoes like me out there looking for guidance on their first AR, so any help would be great! Plus every extra safe with a semi AR in it makes it tougher for the next govn't/RCMP to ban them!

Well...if you look at the Dominion Arms...they have Norgon style ambi mag release, hammer forged barrels...these are features you won't find on the US ones (if that's important to you). Can't say I'd buy one but there is some value to them.

And Chinese QC.....which makes any benefit of a "hammer forged" barrel or "Norgon" ambi safety pretty pointless.
I had one of the CQA's, worst looking piece of #### I have ever seen. NOT what an AR15 should be....

I also had one...an older 14.5 CQ-a. Let my kids beat the crap out of it/tear it apart (while learning its function) then sold it. It was cheap but it did the job. Never had an issue with it. There will always be a debate on these things. But I do agree with you...I'll never buy another (I'm a firearm snob now). I'm looking to get rid of my last Chinese firearm (a DA Grizzly) once the 14" 590A1's eventually get here.

The Norcs have their place.
They're still the cheapest around and are so sloppy you know it will always run.
I bought one to tinker on while I build the exact AR I want.

Warranty on a $500 AR15?
Who cares....you can buy any single part you may need for these at anytime...and replace it yourself in 2 minutes. It's not a ####ing BMW....jesus people are whiney lol

Canadian firearms warranty is a joke, I got first hand experience dealing with North Sylva. They don't give a crap about the end user.

I rather not have warranty and deal with the problem myself if one ever developed.

If a guy had around $1000 to blow, which one of the deals out now would be best? Daniel defence (I know they are out but am hoping they may get more) the colt, or the one IRG , farm boy and chemist have! or whatever else I haven't seen?
Seems hard to find one of these in anything but .223,even though most of them say they are made in other calibers!

Well, it would seem tons of people judging by all the threads on CGN complaining about their new firearm looking like it's been through combat, or not working after just getting it, or not even grouping 5" at 50yds etc.

Has an E3 bolt ever been sent to KAC for warranty?

Not a bolt, but we have replaced the odd item.

Somebody tgat actually knows something about ARs shoukd make a list of what's what for what $ :)

I just bought my first AR a month ago, a Norc. It was. $525 and runs fine, but I bought it for beginner shooters to use it hard. Of course I rediscovered how much fun they are and now might want another AR but not familiar with the Oracles etc. Only ever shot Colts back in the day.
