Discounted AR-15

...Remington OWNS DPMS and BUSHY, have for several years. They will be the ones doing warranty work if you buy the Canadian priced version instead of what Darren calls "grey market" IRUNGUNS version...

I understand that, I just think Darren may have been referring to ARs OTHER than Remingtons (which includes DPMS and Bushmaster) when he made his comment.

Well I hope he was talking about those as he has first hand experience selling them. I don't think IRUNGUNS is cutting into any if his other lines like BCM/KAC/Rainier. And I don't think he would rip on them for bringing in lines he doesn't sell like the cheap Colt USA guns.....right....lol
Darren has made it clear previously that he doesn't approve of the way they import guns...and he has a point from a business standpoint for sure, it makes it harder to compete right. For the consumer, it's a nice option to have that's all.

It's a buyer's market and it's a different business model. IRG seems to be doing just fine. I've imported with them 3 times now. Why wait months on end for a batch to be delivered to a distrubutor when you can buy what you want immediately from the US and have it delivered within a month? They do provide warranty service for most brands they sell. This gray market propaganda is nonsensical.

If a Canadian business can beat their prices and their delivery time I will gladly oblige and give them my moneys. Hasn't been the case for the particular items I desire.

So what I get from this thread is I would be stupid to buy a Norc AR right now? For $524.50 I can have a M16Ai style rifle to my door. It wold be my first AR and I don't do competitions so I'm just looking for a range toy. I do like the idea of the $525 DPMS, but the fact the ship with no sights bothers me, and that after taxes, shipping and conversion, it's the same price as the Canadian retailers have.

So what do?

your Canadian retailer sells it for 625$?

Paying with a CC. the USD bring back the price to 585.00 can +ship. both deal with the rebate are to close to call + or- $5.00... JP.

No prob.

Very conflicted on what to do.

buy a used Norc?

Buy a New M16 style Norc

Or buy a DPMS.

It will get very light range use and truthfully I am leaning towards the M16 style since I would like to convert it with USGI parts for the Vietnam look over the winter. But I am not sure if I would regret getting something with a non removable carry handle.

Buy from OST or anyone that stocks DPMS locally. IRG works for expensive and/or hard to find items. You are not going to get a deal with them if you're buying a 500$ DPMS or something of that nature. You get deals by finding a 1,800$ KAC or whatever on an auction site, paying IRG 200$ for importation + GST and shipping to your door. You can save 400-600 $ easily on deals like that and you haven't waited months for them to be in stock in Canada.

You obviously need to do your homework before buying either way.

well their colt le6920 deal was phenomenal... saved 400 bucks from buying it here in from a regular store in Canada. 400$ man! thats one monthly payment for my honda civic!

Ah yes, I forgot about those. Great deals indeed. A better deal was the 999$ Daniel Defense from Wolverine, IMO. Deals are to be had everywhere.

Scan and breathe. Take the shot on targets of opportunity.

Our DPMS Oracles are in stock and Mark and Jenn have been working on transfers. Some shipping today.

Want one right away? We have them ;)

They have LW uppers with their slim hand guard available.

Now, Farmboy needs to get some more BCM up here. KMR lightweight hammer forged 16'' uppers please! : )
