Discreet rifle cases

Some condo boards have rules saying you can't even store camp stove fuel in your condo. Imagine the headache if a nosy neighbour somehow found out you were storing gunpowder and primers for reloading.

Personally I don't like to advertise what kind of stuff might be in my house that could be worth a B&E to steal. There is also the classic stink eye from people that aren't comfortable with firearms.

I totally agree and have many discreet cases just for that reason. Here's one. A simple fishing rod bag

It comes down to intent. If you have a gun in a guitar case, because as many people have found they work great, are readily available, and are typically affordable, that is not a crime.

If you have a gun in a guitar case because you don't want anyone to know you have a gun, then you are concealing it and that is illegal.

^ this, there was a guy that has a gun either wrapped in a blanket or jacket and was charged with concealing a weapon. Unless you have a lot of money and time on your hands to challenge this in court its probably best just to go with a case that was designed for a firearm.

MEC Shuttle IV Travel pack. Will fit 10.5" very comfortably (broken down) or 11.5" a bit tight but still good, very high quality, lockable zippers, lockable pistol/accessory pouch. Shoulder strap, backpack straps or brief case handle. 60 bucks!

The New Brunswick Fish and Wildlife Act clearly states that a firearm can be wrapped in a blanket that is tied with twine and it counts and a properly secured firearm for transport.

What's the difference between a big rectangular rifle bag and a big rectangular rifle bag with a big Yamaha or Roland sticker on it? Keyboard are a big rectangle too.
I do archery and use my archery bow bag when I go to the range. Works but it gets heavy when I have rifles and a bow in there.
We shouldn't have to feel awkward about carrying around guns but I rent and simply don't want to answer any questions.

I know that feeling all too well...nosy neighbors cause unwanted headaches.

Managed to track down the website with the homemade guitar/rifle case. If I had a spare flight case I would give this a shot, if not just for the fun of the project.

If in legal doubt on whether or not you are "concealing" a rifle inside a case, just buy one of those Intel style decals off Ebay that say ".223 inside" or "AR inside" and stick it on. You are plainly describing that there is a gun in the case. :)

The only important thing is whether he won or lost. If he won the case that means it's legal.

No... Just put it on the bottom of the case where no one can see it. :)
Plus, remember its only a 2" sticker. If the "heat" is already looking that hard, you're already in trouble.

I believe DRD has what you are looking for. It will hold an ar with a 16" barrel in a small box that is not obviously a firearm case.

By heat I mean anybody who may turn hysterical if there was any hint of a firearm in that case. The worst is when some ####### calls the police on you when you're doing absolutely nothing wrong, and you have to deal with all kinds of #### for no good reason.

You think anyone in the lineup at Starbucks is going to recognize what an AR15 is? Unless of course it's the one I go to... in which case... no police but... HIGH FIVES!

Some of these are good ideas but I don't know if I like the idea of using a guitar case, because guitars are often worth a lot of money so it really doesn't deter theft. If all you care about is wether it looks like a gun case then it's a decent idea because used cases can be had for cheap from pawn shops.
