My friend got his 305 today and decided to try the whole gun in the dishwasher thing and it didn’t turn out so well he put it in on the pots and pans setting and pulled it out right after it was done and this is the result.

I used a bottle of simple green and then some brake clean followed by a rag with some gun cleaner finally a little gun oil on a rag and I was very happy with the results I know there are people on here that have had success with the dishwasher but just be aware that it might cause some harm I’d hate to see more people having this problem.

I'M FREAKIN' CRYING!

The dishwasher thing is just for stocks, to remove cosmo, and even then; it's mostly only for stocks you want to do a serious refinish on!

MY EYES BURN!

Dear Sweet Baby Jesus...

But, How does the stock look now that its been properly cleaned? Much better than before I bet.

Me too

I finally stopped laughing enough to type this . If "YOUR" friend dose not want to spend money to reblue . you can plug the barrel or fill with auto grease , then glass bead the metal . Then use the paste cold blue . it will give it a military type finish . I did this to a old FAL 10 yrs ago & it still looks good

Strip it down and put the whole thing in. Small parts in the basket. Get ready to oil it as soon as it comes out. It'll be hot and dry and ready to rust. I use the regular dishwasher detergent pucks. You won't get the parts any cleaner and it gets all the little nooks. Every gun I get, long or pistol, get the same treatment if covered with anything gunky. Just watch anything made of plastic, some types will melt.

My wife is understanding. I just have to wait till the dishes are done.

I imagin it was a post like this that may have sent him in this direction i have found a few that say the same. He is in the prosses of cleaning it up so sorry i dont think he will be selling it.
