Dispute over SMD-12 classification

Ah, I see. Thanks!

Hell yeah!!!! Anyone want a .45/70 pistol grip shorty guide gun? Now how's that for bear defense?!!! :D

Maybe this is a stupid comment but doesn't remington make centerfires already off their pump action? Its off the small 410 action...would be a good place to start a build on a pump centerfire no?

Can-down and Scarecrow and anybody who reads this:

You know what? Let's have a CGN contest in finding a major breaktrough in the interpretation of the law or discovery which will produce for firearms owners a big relief and for the liberals a major kick in the testicles.

The rules would be that the winner should make a discovery, like something we didn't know that we could have or use. But it should not be left in the state of "bulljit on the internet", it should go the whole 9 yards (in the same way unopistoleros did).

I remind you two of the past ones:
-people wrongly believed all bullpups were illegal,
-people wrongly believed (including myself) that 10 rnds pistol mags may not be used in rifles/carbines.

The rules should be very clear and un-biased.

The rule for use is that the GUN be designed for one hand. As far as I know the 10/22 was designed for 2 hands. This doesn't change just because the stock does.

Cool.
That is something.

It should be discussed in here, on CGN, by many members and scrutinized by the collective inteligence of the members.

Me, I'm still looking in the CCC.
:D

Apparently 10/22 would fall into the same category as the 870.
I think, in my own interpretation, that it would be ok with short barrel and pistol grip.
I can't find anything in CCC right now that would indicate otherwise.
Then, why the fcuk that letter to unopistoleros refers to "non semi auto"???

Cool, we found something new.

Scarecrow and Can-down were right and I was wrong.

Now, we need a stock with pistol grip only which never had (or was never manufactured) with shoulder piece.
OMG, the libs and antis and the CFC and RCMP must hate CGN and its collective inteligence.

I will have to study the act, but does that pertain to SA rimfire rifles? The 660mm rule is only for barrels being shortened. The rule is 657mm by folding or telscope or other.
I don't get this and I don't find it in CCC or Firearms Act. Or what I've found is that 660mm refers to total lenght by folding, etc., and 457mm to barrels. I can't find anything now about 657, but it can be because I'm tired.
:)

because the letter was written to Dlask replying about the shotgun they were making... why would you say more when asked a a question about one thing?

Yes, it was the 457mm I was thinking of.

Got my 2 shotgun friday, very nice work, just to let you know that with the Hogue short LOP (11 1/2) stock, the OAL is just over 26in and the look with this stock is very not too bad to me. But for sure, will keep the pistol grip on one as long as possible, for the rest of his life i hope...

I havve the 14" barrel as well and am totally happy with it...

If I had bought it before I bought my Marlin 1895GS 45-70 I may not have bought the rifle...

The 14" barrel made my 870 into an awesome fast handling defense shotgun...

I am thinking that I need my second 8.5" (that I am going to buy as soon as I get back home) with the butt stock on it as well...

I'm looking through every post in every thread i can find on this subject as i seem to recall at least one name brand dealer questioning the legality of this shotgun because it competed with his Fabarms line and he was upset because he couldn't get this length of barrel on the Fabarms shotguns . If i can find it , or if anyone can find that post please paste it here . I believe everything ponts said and i want everyone to know who outed us .

Ya right...

While I would love to have a Fabarm to compete, I cannot. So what did I do?... I sent an email to Dlask to get dealer pricing.

To imply I would shut down a firearm becasue it didn't come from my hands is absurd and completely unfounded.

And did you get a reply?

Actually no... I just figured he was not interested. As he is a small shop, he probably has far more retail orders than capacity. Why cut us in if he cannot meet demand already. So I moved on...

Did you also know that the CFC and RCMP received many calls originating from members here on this very site asking for the 8.5" 870 to be PROHIBITED!!

People with a beef against DLASK, Dealers looking to protect there own investments or Anti's who knows???? Very disturbing.

We had exactly the same issue crop up with the Swiss Arms "Blue Star" back in 2001.

We actually had some members of the Swiss Rifle clubs calling the CFC and demanding that if they didn't "non-restrict" the SG550 then they should "prohibit" the "Blue Star" as it was only "fair"

So... If you're looking to point fingers, do it elsewhere. We've lived through the expereince and I wouldn't wish it on any other importer / manufacturer / dealer.
