I just love the threads that slam a company....

One guy out of hundreds gets a bad deal and the rest of us jump on board and slam the company....
By the sounds of it the "slam" wasn't the first part of this story.

Apparenty the seller was contacted first, and correcty so. They didn't make it right after a few attempts, so "slam" away. They had their chance.

Why they are charging 300$ more than Marstar for the M305?? Anyone knows?

Good enough reason not to shop there IMHO...

A trip to Lever used to be the highlight of any trip to Vancouver... spent a few bucks in there over the years... way back when Lever actually owned the place... few trips in there since 'new ownership'... don't even bother anymore. 'Nuff said...

Agreed,

The sooner these companies get there hand slapped when they screw people and realize we all talk the better. I can't believe you wouldn't want to know a company has screwed a fellow CGN member so you can avoid it. Do you want to actually wait until you are screwed to form an opinion? If each person does not report what happens how can we see a pattern? Why do you think there is a trader rating on the EE? We should develop a trader rating for all of the gun dealers in Canada when members make a purcase they can give their impressions.

Funny that even when you know a store has had bad press there is always someone else that has a happy story to tell. I like the little outfitter stores up the old highways with enough of everything for the local area and if they dont have it, then they'll have it next week or tell you where to get it. I also like the really big store that is out of stock as sometimes there is a guy in there that really wants to help!

i think this thread was more than fair. i think the facts were well laid out for the rest of us to form our own conclusions. nobody said never shop there only beware as this is there policy and how they conduct buisness. maybe some of the gun shops surf these threads and will see how there customer service may affect the bottom line.

Besides, you were going to throw that chu stock away anyhow. Perfect excuse to get a Sage.

We're not talking about M305 here. The JW25 is the culprit.
Aparently they made two models. Figuring if what I got was the first model or the second is beyond my ambitions. I have personally seen and handled very nice ones.

Lever replied to my email say this problem was resolved to the customers satisfaction. Too bad they couldn't do it without making the guy jump through so many hoops first.

I read into it that the intention was there if they didn't satisfy him 100%....

I also posted that I have never had a problem dealing with them and I also will add that they have always been 100% when dealing with me but one negative and everyone started jumping all over them...

I'm not saying that they shouldn't have done better to begin with when dealing with this problem, what I am saying is one wrong does not justify the rest of us from never dealing with them.

Nobody took into account the thousands of deals that they make yearly like with me that totally satisfy their customers.

Your experience with Lever makes me more reluctant to purchase online from anyone. Buying something site unseen is a bit of a gamble and from what you have been saying it is very easy for them to put you off and not have to deal with a dissatisfied customer.

I think i will buy from a local store so i can handle the firearms and if something
is wrong i will be standing right in front of them when i am asking for some assistance with it, much harder to be ignored that way.

Good post, i don't see why people can't critize a company based on their personal experience.

Yes I agree !! I too will never purchase from Lever arms again. From my own experiences with their customer service. They have succeded in no longer having me as a customer.

I dealt with Lever Arms a few times. Last time was in '98 I think. Never had any problems with them them. However, their prices seem to be consistently higher than other Canadian dealers, so I've spent my money at other shops. Some Canadian retailers really need to join the rest of us in the 21st Century! You can't screw over your customers and not expect word to get out. 17,000 users on GunNutz, that's 17,000 potential customers! Arrogance and "nickel & diming" your customers sure aren't going to put you on any Xmas list with us GunNutz! Pricing your firearms, at times, $200-$300 over what their average price is from umpteen other shops isn't going to cause us to break their door down, money in hand either! It pays to offer good customer service and to stand behind your product, no matter what. Do that and you have a customer for life. More Canadian retailers should take a page from RCBS, and I'm not just talking about gun dealers either!

To all CGN-ers that read this post, and specially to those who posted... thank you.

Why? Because without you, without the power we have as a group, I would have never got anything from that deal.
They would have blamed UPS and... that's it.
They did comply to some of my requests, after being threatened to pursue legal action and negative publicity.
They never agreed to refund my money. There is no such clause (no refund policy) on any document from them.
I had to bargain bazar-style for something I paid.
The rifle that they sent me the second time, had the same defect as the first one. The channel from the rear sight was waaaay off , pointing to the right, and the firing mechanism should have been used for a silenced rifle, because one could barely hear anything.... instead of click.... it was like huflk... like in the nice Bond movies. I tried that on the snap caps. I never fired the rifle with live ammo.

The stock on the second one was ok, but the worst problem was still there (see the second picture). I conclusioned that all rifles of that particular model must have been like that. The never informed me, before shipping the second rifle, that the problem is probably from China, and they can't fix it.

I saw a nice one, in a store, a few months back. I went back to check... same model rifle, but different style inscriptions and a waaay better quality. Could the Chinese be making knock-offs of their own product? :dancingbanana:

I traded the rifle. NO, I didn't sell it to someone from CGN. I went to a gunsmith, so he knew what he was getting. (that's why he had that face....:runaway: ) and paid me half the money..

the final note looks like this:

I ordered that gun form Lever on the 6 th of Nov, for a hunt that was 9 days later.
Got a bad gun... sent it back....
Lever sent me a second gun that I had to trade in, because I couldn't be bothered to try a rifle with a crooked sight.
They did pay for my return shipping after a lot of dickering.
Today, 5th of Dec.. I still do not have those 2 extra mags I oredered & payed a month ago.

So if their shipping charges amount to the equivalent of half the product value then, the customer was satisfied.
This must be the right way to quantify this.... right?
