Ditch back up irons for AR or what

Offset sights are dumb. Try running them from a rollover prone position to the right or from your support side. They also stick out and run the risk of snagging on sh*t. A folding BUIS beneath the optic is the logical solution. As noted above, I'm struggling to understand how the OP is not able to run a 1-4x optic with a BUIS mounted? Close your stock, invest in better glass, or both.

I have not seen it mentioned yet so could this work for you?

Canted iron sights!

Surefire sights in that picture there.
This is the option I took. The consideration of how long it took me to get my optics off (even with QD) compared to rotating the gun basically forced me to buy 45 degrees.

I scratched my head as I don't understand how the scope can ever work with the rear BUIS in the up position. As farmboy has said, the BUIS goes up after the scope is detached for whatever reason.

The canted sight/Reflex sight is a good solution for competition, but I would prefer RMR/Doc optic over the main optic for non competition application.

Guys, I realize now there's no reason for the BUS to work with the scope on. So yes, I will just take the scope off if need be and won't worry about it not being able to flip up while it is on.

Exactamundo!

The only time BUIS are up at the same time an optic is mounted is when looking through a no magnification red dot that can co-witness with the BUIS. I like to flip up the front sight sometimes with an EoTech so you have perfect alignment and more accurate shot placement but I quit using my EoTech on my AR and moved it to my KSG. Now my AR's have 1-4 scopes or fixed 4 in the case of my ACOG.

I have a KAC folding set on my MWS that are offset to the right - I'm a lefty and all positions are do-able.
They are a good option for optics that get bolted down, and are not obtrusive when folded.

Even from your right side in the prone, from your support(right shoulder) side?

Why not an ELCAN sight? They magnify, act as a red dot, and have a peep sight on top - canted, if you prefer. I realize it is a short radius, but they shoudn't be needed. Make a canted/ folding front sight, which may work with the elcan peep. I don't know if it possible, but it might be a fun solution - the snagging.

Yes - kind of...
You role the gun inside with the ejection port up and the mag facing to the right.
Depending on how low you need to go, if you have a break, you can collapse the butt stock and ride it on the top of the shoulder.
If not, or recoil is an issue you can ride buttstock in the pit of your arm.
Depending on how fat your cheek/beard is, you'll get little to no cheek weld.
Not perfect I admit, but you can get hits.
Way better than no sights, or buried irons under a sight.
