As an american....they then destroy our country by turning strongholds into welfare cities to win elections...AZ is a glorious example. Also weird how everyone hates in Florida but that's where MOST canadians go to nest for the winter....

Sorry this was ment to be a response to a post...missed that clearly. MURICA?

Pretty good, 'cept for the part 'bout keeping the Monarchy. That's #1 on my list on things to get rid of.

our current system doesn't have a real monarchy. The queen appoints a governor based on our recommendation. and the governor is the mediator when parties get into irreconcilable situations. I think it is a small amount of money for a nonbias third party. we also get free mascots for people to gossip about.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. it's a complex system, there is no simple switch to make things better.

I have very little faith in the West going forward.

Nearly 30t in debt and the cat is out of the bag; a substantial segment of the population feel no allegiance to their host nations or obligation to work and contribute to society when they can just endlessly vote for more and more handouts and entitlements.

We are in a sad state there is no doubt....sad years behind, and I fear sadder ones in our future.

It is a pretend monarchy, useless, functionless... No reason to keep it in my mind...

The governor general is a pawn of the party in power. They would immediately lose their position if they ever failed to sign a law that the governing party wanted.

The monarchy is paid each year for every canadian citizen. That's money we desperately need, especially with the current gubbermint.

I agree with parts of it, but not all. Generally very good though. I don't have a problem with other religions, as long as they practice their beliefs in private and don't shove them on me, and vice versa. I find plenty of obnoxious Judeo-Christians too.... I also do drive a hybrid in the interest of fuel efficiency but do not believe for a moment in the fairy tale of oil going away any time soon, and any of the soy latte crowd who actually thought about what they were lobbying for would realize that without oil they they would be living in a wood shack with no heat. I don't care what someone's ideology is as long as they are willing to work for a living, pay their share, and stop shoving their damn beliefs in my face. Did you see today we banned Dr. Suess?????

"--We'll keep the greedy CEO's and rednecks.

--We'll keep our Judeo-Christian value."

Since those two items don't go well together or even coexist, ders flaws in dese docoments.

I don't know about that. Most greedy CEOs that I've met take great pride in standing at the front of the church and declaring their piety. Most churches seem to like those donations from said CEOs also.
Most people generally described as rednecks are pretty religious also. While that is a generalization, it's what I've noticed. Obviously it's not 100%, of course.

If you don't believe religion can be bought, you haven't looked closely enough.

Its has meaning. Its Tradition, its to honor our past and the Empire that forged this Nation in the first place.

Keeping a family of douchebags (save for the queen) in ultra-opulence so they can travel around the world in private jets banging underage hookers on Epstein Island is not deserving of honour. But I do suppose that Royalty acting like cocaine addled orangutans in heat is tradition.

Big fan of resurrecting The Maple Leaf Forever.

Why leave now? Alberta is well on its way to becoming a fellow have-not province courtesy of the last 10 years of US waffling on Keystone, with the final nail in the coffin coming from Biden. At least you'll be on the receiving end of equalization for once LOL. US/Saudi Oil & Gas have been setting Alberta up to fail since the beginning if you ask me.

Federal governments are good at making industrious provinces into have not provinces. The same thing happened to the east coast 100 years ago.

And people wonder why I have a basic distrust of overreaching governments.
