Dlask 8" vs 12.5"

... you can get any length of Dlask barrel and you wont go wrong, they are IMHO the best we have up here.
im kinda thinking that i might wanna get a 10" one, after having mine and my friends ones side by side last night the 10" seems like it would be a nice length.

These two have 10" barrels plus 2" brakes for a finished length of 12"... they are the best balanced guns that I have built, in the opinions of any who have shot them thus far.

Get off it already buddy, barrels weigh what they weigh and if they're too much for you handle hit the gym. FYI no one with any knowledge of shooting would buy a 20 inch bull barrel to shoot off hand. You must but just trolling these forms at this point going on with this non-sense.

Surprisingly, there are many less than intelligent folks who do run heavy barrels offhand, or rather they try to. The same people try running high magnification optics off hand as well. Even "light" guns take their toll after carrying it all day. Sitting at the bench the weight is irrelevant, but for those who carry it all day, its a major factor.

As for barrel length, I have a 12.5" Dlask "SR22" contour(0.75" diameter, threaded) barrel that is working well and shoots great. I'd prefer a factory contour but it seems no one wants to make any factory contour barrels with shorter OAL(DLASK are you listening:)).

That's what I have now, I want a thinner profile, like a factory contour, not the SR 0.75" contour, but at about 12" in length.

As I said they did make the factory contour sporter profile barrels... but they just weren't selling. They made them in a 12.5" version... you might be able to hunt one down on the used market... or a call to Josef to see if he can do a "one off."

If they did I've never seen them. The link you posted is for the SR 0.75" contour barrel with the sporter chamber. I scored a 10.5" slim factory contour barrel with sporter chamber and threaded, that barrel is very light and shoots well but I have no idea what make it is.

The rifle I posted earlier has the factory contour 12.5", it measures .645 right before the thread protector.

Believe it or not, that rifle started life as a Stainless Target model, that I put a bunch of VQ parts into and the Dlask short barrel, and chopped and worked on the factory target laminate stock. I've got a bit more work to do around the cut out in the buttstock, but I love this rifle. With the 1-4 Leupy on there, it's a grouse and bunny's worst nightmare.

That is pretty sweet, but its still a bull barrel and its not threaded, and it won't work with my stock as it would be too short.

I have no idea what your rig is... I was just making a statement that they made the barrels and they didn't sell, so they moved on to design's that did sell. The GM barrel I posted the link for was not intended for you... but there are many looking for a short barrel with irons...

That is the barrel that I was referring to... Dlask made a few variations of it... including the stepped design.

Short barrel with irons are a rare bread.
