Got my Norc. m14 back from dlask this week with their new adjustable gas lock front sight and an A6 muzzle brake. The gas lock is great and locks up rock solid. You crank it on to the desired tension and then lock it in place with two tiny set screws. Had some trouble with the front sight and set screws shooting loose, so will try to sight it in again now that I have applied some Loctite.
The A6 muzzle brake is huge! Bigger then I was expecting, but does work to tame recoil and muzzle jump. Side blast is significant and you won't make any friends beside you at the range.
Turn around time was much longer then expected because dlask was turning out a batch of their redesigned gas locks. Took at least 6 weeks, but not a big deal in the end. My only complaint is that they did a crude job of boring out the muzzle brake to .30 cal, and left the steel bare. It will need to come off and get cleaned up. Indexing seems a hair off as well.
All in all, I'm quite happy with the work and the parts and hope that dlask keeps making new $h.t for us to try out. A socom gas plug would be nice. Hint hint
Problem shooting: I am trying out the new Norinco 7.62 ammo for the first time and had approx. 1/15 failure rate with low pressure not cycling the bolt enough to chamber a new round. So, is it the ammo or the fact that I got the gun chopped and screwed up the gas pressure? I'm running a 7.62 Firearms gas system with a Sadlak TIN piston. The stock gun ran perfectly.
