Hi I was wondering if anyone has purchased a Dlask ACR barrel to make their ACR Non-Resticted.

If so how is the accuracy?

Thanks!

Guess it doesn't matter, Stormchaser just bought a NR ACR with a Herron barrel. His restricted ACR will be going up for sale soon.

Someone needs to give one of these a try.

Edit, He already has it in the EE :)

I went that way also. Couldn't be bothered with the hassle of getting a restricted one and replacing barrel.

My girlfriend has selected the ACR as the blackrifle she wants before all others.

But after handling the DMR at shot show we're leaning back towards a converted rifle. I hope Dlask doesn't get spooked by bushmaster's factory NR setup

What was it about the Dmr that made u lean back to the converted? Please do share as I too am studying my options. Thanks.

Must have something to do with the insane choice for a barrel. The empty rifle probably weighs 9-10 pounds empty.

I hope TV doesn't mind me sharing his PM to me but he told me this: "I would be buying standard and converting it over before buying the uber-weight DMR. If you really like the PRS stock maybe I'd buy it and get the barrel fluted. But out of the box, she's a weight."

The reason I was personally interested in the Barrel conversion options is the fact that being a XCR and Tavor guy I wanted to see what all the fuss was about with the ACR. So I bought one. My first 40 rounds were awesome and accurate! Taking down and stripping the gun after I really had a sense of how solid yet simple the design is.

That was a week ago. Over the weekend a buddy in BC asked if I wanted his already NR ACR so I bought it too! Although I love the accuracy of my ACR and really only shoot at ranges, the flexibility of a Non-Restricted is attractive to me. So yes anyone looking for an awesome and accurate ACR let me know.

Here is a photo of my first 5 rounds of Norinco fired at Phoenix range (I believe it is 60 yards)

I just had mine done with a Dlask barrel. I'm waiting for a chance to test it (which might be some time from now by the way things are going :( ). I'll let ya'all know how it works out at 100m.

In the meantime, anyone interested in buying the factory barrel from me? :)

I'm very interested in the NR DMR only because of the heavy (supposedly made for distance encounters) barrel. But since I have an ACR, didn't want to spend another $2800--instead choosing to spend $550 from Dlask (getting it de-registered) and going for a "precision" barrel when (or if) they become available in future and using that barrel for competitions. etc.

Zupermann you gotta make this a priority!! 8)

Hell that's cheap for a new non-restricted ACR Barrel, Used plus new Barrel will be less than ordering it!

I hear some congestion and a cough in your typing, you should take tomorrow off.

Ha ha ha, That's funny!
Yes, I have to get out there and do some "group therapy". It will be a good treatment for my "cabin fever" :)

It isn't much hassle at all. I'm picking mine up from the verifier today.

If you were to go with a Dlask barrel and assuming you have the minimum mechanical aptitude God gave to most men it would take you around 20-30 minutes to swap over your gas system and then all you need is to drive to a verifier and let him take some measurements and fill in some paperwork.

If you look for an excuse not to do something you will find one.

Or I can buy a NR one with the job already done and fill no paperwork. Should be here by Friday. = )
