Dlask non-restricted ACR Barrel

I had one. Don't forget it was also a factory rifle .

You're arguing semantics, they are not accessible for most, just like a nonrestricted g36.
They're out there, but are unicorns and hardly worth mentioning due to their rarity.
Anybody can buy an acr and do the conversion.

I'm not arguing anything, I am not the one who said I tried them all and a modified acr was the best accuracy while leaving out a rifle that ships out new with a target as the proof.

Anybody asked Dlask where they were at with their 300Blk barrel? I was told "it's in the works" a while ago.
I think that's the main reason I didn't buy their 223Rem yet. Been dreaming of a blackout ACR since the beginning of both... Mind you the barrel was shorter than 18.5 in my dream.

If they were to ask I would share the gas port size I use with my NR 300BLK barrel. The tricky part is setting up a carbine length gas system in the rifle as it requires you to source another op rod and shorten it. Then you need to fabricate a new op rod guide because if you make a notch in the barrel deep enough to use the factory op rod guide you have a very thin spot due to the larger bore. I went a different way and don't use an op rod guide in mine and made a sleeve (stainless tubing) to give the spring something to push on.
It isn't a difficult conversion but it isn't as simple as just throwing a 30 cal barrel into the rifle. Their biggest hurdle is probably going to be figuring out how to get it to cycle with any available factory ammo so that people don't go on here and say it's a pos just because they can't get a load to cycle. Even my PWS 300BLK AR upper wouldn't cycle Hornady 208 grain subsonic loads, I could however easily get the same bullet to cycle subsonic with my handloads.

The 300BLK is not something I would recommend to someone that isn't an experienced handloader. Not all the reloading data you find will cycle a semi auto and it uses pistol and shotgun powder rather than rifle powder so if you think you're going to load up a bunch of 300BLK with that 8 pounder of Varget you have sitting around you're going to be disappointed and frustrated.
H110, Lil'gun, A1680, and IMR4227 are the most commonly used powders for semi auto but there are others that will work and if you go with a bolt action the doors open up even wider.

If anyone is interested I can help source you a 300BLK barrel for the ACR, be prepared to find your own gas system parts though if you aren't willing to strip them from your old barrel. Keep in mind though that if you are going from the original 16 inch to a non restricted length that once you have it classified as non restricted you can never legally use the 16 inch again without re-registering it as a restricted rifle so stealing the gas system isn't a big deal.

Just a thought but could the S/U gas selector be used to mitigate this? We are unlikely ever going to use it for it's entended purpose anyway...

I thought about that but the S setting is for suppressed and just bleeds off a lot more of the gas so theoretically it could be used but I think you would need to fill it then drill the port to the needed size for the ammo you were using.
I don't have any problems running both supersonic and subsonic loads through mine with the selector on U so I quit thinking about solving a problem that doesn't exist.

I've got good service from them in the past, but they seem to answer questions with a random answer... they did drop the ball on this one.

dont feel bad dlask doesnt do much of anything.

I'd like a 300blk barrel but that is so frakkin true, I'd much prefer the AK lower from the masada video... they did drop the ball on this one, Bushmaster that is.

7.62x39 is where it's at anyways, just need an AK mag well conversion

Seems to me the ACR is a hot potato for everybody lol
