DLASK rail questions

why anybody would be happy with a product that needs to be sent back for a fix is beyond me. if it happened once in a while maybe but not ALL THE TIME. i have a buddy who bought a pistol from dlask and it took over a year and many, many trips to annacis before it was sorted. the list of bullsh*t excuses i've heard from them over the years are ridiculous...my favorite was the 'heavy anodizing' excuse as to why milspec mags don't fit in the magwell...gimme a break!

He's telling some what they want to hear cause they won't listen anyway..........put that quote in context....

I went with LaRue simply cause I can't find any Knight's URX/FFRAS around at all.... but on friday Brock did say LaRue are his next choice("next best copy" to be exact)!!! I finally pinned him down on this, yee hee moosehead brings out the best in a man

I had heard that as well. I went to dlasks site and the info was not crystal clear as to the origin of their parts. Can any dlask owners speak to this?

The origin of their parts? Its called aluminum billet. Dlask manufactures their parts from scratch.

The rebuilt rifles should not be confused with the ones that Dlask builds from scratch. They are not the same. Whoever told you that all Dlask rifles are rebuilt Norincos is very ill informed.

As far as the rails not being to spec., have the people who say that they aren't actually measured them precisely?

Here's the spec:

Don't assume that just because an accessory is made in the US or elsewhere that the dimensions are golden. This isn't the case. Compare a Fobus molded rail to the spec. Mine is WAY off... The column is supposed to be 0.617" -0.010", mine is 0.665. The overall height is 0.295", not the 0.367" min. I've had to fit a few parts to it.

Yeah, Dlask makes mistakes, but guess what... so do all of the other manufacturers. For some reason its ok to rip on one of our only Canadian manufacturers and not the others?

I like this thread (too bad the pic was removed) for example:

A monstrosity of a carryhandle... but no "Colt is crap" flames?

I'm not saying either is excusable, but there is definitely a huge double standard on this site.

those norinco/dlask rifles are the ones leverarms is selling. they were CQ311's that dlask milled the carry handle off , refinished and changed a few things, like the stock, handgaurds, barrels, etc.

and as soon as i run into a problem from one of the others i will say so.

I can mount accessories with zero problems on my AR, yet the rail I had from Joe would accept none of them. I've used Armalite rails, Larue, Diemaco, etc etc etc and none of them had any problems, only the Dlask rail did. it's not that hard to make things right you know.

That's horse####.

I think we're pretty fair about criticism around here. This is not personal. I purchased a part from Joe, and it's not as ordered. Apparently I'm not the only one who's had this problem.

Now I think it's great that we have Canadian manufacturers, and supporting them is why I bought the rail from him in the first place, but being a Canadian doesn't get you a free pass from negative attention when the product is defective.

One of my buddies had a Dlask FF tube and it wasn't up to snuff in the rail specs. He had problems fitting stuff on that went on my Knights rails with no problems.

Dlask has been known for having rails & AR lowers that weren't quite right on spec.

Out of all the rails, I like the Larue Tactical FF tube I currently have.

IMHO, you can't go wrong with either Knights or Larue.

Don't go comparing KAC RIS and RAS to things like LaRue FF RAS', they're apples and oranges.

Personally, my favourite rail is the KAC FF RAS. I haven't had a chance to play with a URX yet, but I imagine it'll take the top spot. LaRue is second, with everything else after that.

YHM is alright for what you pay for it, but #### in the long run. It's too bad LaRue isn't available in Canada, and KAC is hard to get anywhere, so I had to settle for Troy. When I say settle, I mean that I would have preferred KAC or LaRue. The Troy MRF-MX is an awesome rails system for a very nice price.

Anyway, KAC is #1 for a reason. Because their #### is the best. It's the best machined, the best finished, and the most in-spec. You don't like it? Too bad.

Have you had a Larue rail, or anything Larue in your hands????

Larue stuff is machined, finished, and in spec just as good as Knights stuff is.;)

The Larue rail I have looks to be machined & finished better the the Knights rails I had.

Well this thread has effectively killed my faith in the Dlask RAS. I spoke to John at Wolverine this morning and put my name in for a Daniel Defense M4 9.0 rail. I will run the Dlask system until the DD stuff is brought in.

Wow,sonny you don't have a frigging clue about what you are talking about,...learn...think...post,that's how it is supposed to work. Now run along the adults are talking.

just like to add.... don;t discount Troy Ind. from the pack either..... the flip down BUIS both front and rear I have are top notch and finished clean and sweet. I imagine that thier quality on the rest of the gear is top notch also.

What exactly do you have a problem with, Reaper? I was pointing out that the KAC RIS/RAS can't be compared with the LaRue and the likes, because they're two completely different things, and that's what -I- think was going on.

I love LaRue's stuff. I've got a BUIS and an EoTech riser on the way. I'll tell you ALL about it when it arrives.

KAC was the forerunner, and will continue to light the way until someone passes them. So far, that hasn't happened. This is my opinion. You have your own.

My comments about YHM stand. I forgot DD, but they're comparable to LaRue, just a slightly different shape.

The Troy is awesome, but since it's not a one piece handguard, it tends to rattle a little bit, which puts me right off.
