So I bought a 12.5" sporter chamber bull barrel used on here. Used ownership-wise, but basically a new unused barrel.
Over 200 rounds, and had to cycle the charging handle manually every time. Used Winchester 555, American eagle high velocity, and Winchester super X. None fed reliably, and I made some metal shavings from somewhere, I can't find the precise source. Assuming it was metal being shaved off the head of bullets. Stovepipes, fail to extract, and misfires were all encountered. 90s Ruger receiver, 90s original hammer spring and metal trigger guard. (Meaning non-plastic parts
I sent Dlask an email asking if this was normal until break-in, and got zero response. I even offered to drive it to him to inspect and give me his opinion, and stated I was NOT looking for warranty service.
Is this a charging spring being too strong, the tight tolerances of a dlask sporter chamber versus OEM, or what?
Any ideas / suggestions welcome, here or via PM.
