Do I really need a glock?

I don't think it has to be a Glock specifically, but everyone should have two 9mm polymer striker fired, highly reliable and durable pistols in their safe. Identical clones would be great, but not essential. Glocks are a great option for that need because they are as good or better than anything else for reliability, the most common for parts replacement, the most common and durable mags, and the most common for dual use mags in other platforms. Having a Ruger PCC to go with them is also a great idea (or other highly reliable Glock mag 9mm PCC)

Agreed. I only have an SR9 so figured Id add another 9mm. Was always interested in a Glock just because it seems to be the gold standard for reliability and parts like you mentioned. Ordered a G48 on the weekend. Hopefully it will become my second.

Absolutely. I have 2 glocks sitting in my safe taking up valuable space because a family member left the country and transferred to me. I just dont enjoy shooting glocks. They arent for everyone. If that's your thing, great. Some people like buttsex, and that's fine too. And some people like both glocks and buttsex, and that's great for them cou:

What I do with my glocks in my bedroom is my business and my business only.

Yes spare parts :)

A great thing about Glock is many use the same parts. G17, 34, 22, 35, 31, 37, are all built off the same frame with many common fitting parts. Not absolute interchangeability, but many parts are.

And Glock spare parts are readily available unlike other brands that are not. Until something else changes

One has to be sufficiently proficient with Glocks ... just because ... so at least one is needed for training ...

oh, and Sigs P320 too ...

Opinion: Been toying with the idea of x2 48s or pick up an extra 21 even though I do not shoot 45 at all. Long debated 48s cuz of 9mm availability and indeed if anything ever breaks over the next 40 years lol. I get they are not fully compatible models of course. Thoughts?

2 of everything for the important ones in your stable. I got 2 48's and 2 19x's. Only one 44 because it's mostly for cheap training and plinking.

Really going back and forth on this one.

I am down to a 22/45 in .22, and a Chinese NP 34/228 9mm clone with an SRT SIG trigger kit, SIG mags, and holsters.

The clone 228 shoots awesome, no failures, metal magazines, but what to do?

Sell the 228 Norc and buy a Glock, just don't seem to have a real compelling reason. I tend to prefer all metal guns and metal magazines (they drop free no matter what temperature it is or whether empty or full), but don't mind plastic guns as my 22/45 is a poly frame with metal magazines, but Glocks have just so much support and options.

What to do???

You should sell the Nork and BUY A GLOCK! You won't look back. I have had several Nork pistols and while they work well for the most part, they are just not on the same level.

Unless you like plastic mags that swell when loading with different type ammo, making insertion and expelling the mag less than stellar.

I really hate getting into detail on these things on the internet. It's way too easy to appear as a wingnut prepper ;)

It really depends what else you have, what you expect from the future and what you are buying for. In my case, I have a G17 & 34 and a spare complete frame, full parts kit, and spare 34 barrel. I also have plenty of 10/19 & 10/33 mags, and a Ruger PCC. If the sh1t truly hits the fan, these would go along way. And a G19 as well, all Gen4.

I also have a 48MOS, but only 1. It is not my apocalypse gun, just a fun shooter, and CCW if/when I get my NH permit again and visit the USA. If it breaks, it is somewhat expendable if I can't get parts.

Competition I prefer 9mm 1911 to Glocks, so I have a pair of STI.

I also have a G22, G35MOS, G21 & 45ACP 1911 and extra mags for all. Although last week I considered all of these almost priceless, this week I am giving a lot of thought to selling all 4 of them. None of them get shot often, and with the freeze looming it's a lot of money tied up with no plan to ever move them to primary shooters. If the ban doesn't happen, I can always re-invest in them again.

So for your question, I think it depends what else you have, what you shoot now, and what you expect to maybe one day need. Without knowing your whole collection, I'd rather have 2x48 than 1x21, but if you already have a 21, spare mags, and ammo that's a consideration. If the 48s will be your first and only 9mms, I'd definitely say buy two (two is one, one is none ;) ) but as my only 9mm Glocks, I'd rather have two 17s, 34s, or even 19s, and even more so if you have a Glock mag carbine.
