I've been saving up some scratch for a new "toy" and want something in 9mm. Was looking at a Ruger SR9 and along comes a good deal on a Gen 4 G17. I bought a G22 last year but now I'm torn. Is there any such thing as too many Glocks in the safe or should I diversify?

Diversify now and try some different stuff. Find what you like then start collecting.

(This is coming from a big Glock fan, BTW)

Shoot both if you can. One will 'speak' to you, telling you it's your gun.

In the meantime, there are more video reviews on you tube than you have time to watch .....

i am in the same boat...The Ruger has a safety, the glock does not... thats what i am looking at.. so i like the Glock...

The ambi safe on the SR9 is redundant since it has a Glock-type 'safety' trigger, in addition to a mag disconnect, the stupidest idea since the US Army asked Browning to incorporate one in the 1911 design.

....you don't have a Glock in 9mm(G17)? That's just wrong.
When I decided to get my first Glock it had to be a 9mm. I bought a gen3 years ago. Still have/shoot it and now added a gen4 G21.
I like variety but Glocks just speak to me....YMMV

Looks like the diversifies have it so far:)

I'm kinda partial to DAO/striker fired. Had a Para 16/40 ltd. once upon a time and quite liked it but want to stick to polymer frames for now. Thanks for all the input guys. Leave it to CGNr's to complicate the decision making process.:p

Well, why not open your mind and try something else, 1911, once you've tried, you will fall in love, 
