Do you have a 1950 dated Long Branch?? SURVEY

**Note: I'm cross posting this at "milsurps.com"**

If you have a 1950 dated Long Branch, I need some information please: :runaway:

1. what are the first 3 digets of the serial #? eg.) 91L6
2. Is the action blued or parkerized?
3. what is the barrel date? ( 2 digets found on the knox-form) eg.) '50
4. is the barrel parkerized or blued?
5. is the bolt parkerized or blued?
6. is the striker parkerized or blued?

This one just was added...my first enfield since 1988. Also got a 1918 dated No.1 in the deal.

1. 93L2
2. Blued
3. 50
4. Blued
5. Blued
6. Blued

Cheers

1950 Longbranch

Receiver dated 1950

Serial # 95L75

All Parked.

Matching bolt, receiver, magazine.

Odd that receiver and serial number are double stamped. Serial number on butt socket is overstamped consecutive numbers; first is 70 (same as bolt), over stamp is 71 (same as magazine). C No4 Mk 1*. Found in New Mexico, great shape, very accurate.

Some more research data

Speaking with a friend of mine who has 2 1950 LBs and gave this info for your use.
50 LB #1 93L27xx
All blued with "50" barrel marking
50 LB #2 93L67xx
Barrel and receiver parkerized, some small parts blued or parkerized. "50" barrel marking

Best of Luck

1. what are the first 3 digets of the serial #? eg.) 95L1
2. Is the action blued or parkerized? Parkerized (looks like a paint job, but very nicely done)
3. what is the barrel date? ( 2 digets found on the knox-form) eg.) '51
4. is the barrel parkerized or blued? Parkerized (looks similar to the finish on the Rem M870 Express, but darker, more powdery (lots of silver looking powder particles) and way better looking.
5. is the bolt parkerized or blued? Parkerized, same as the receiver.
6. is the striker parkerized or blued? Parkerized, same as the receiver.

Just bought this one. 1950 , 92L7, all blued (no parkerizing). Barrel date is not visible without disassembly. It's never been fired except for the proving rounds at the Long Branch factory.

Lb 1950

I have a DCRA 1950 Longbranch.

1. 73L6
2. Blued
3. n/a
4. n/a
5. Blued
6. Blued

I realize that this rifle has been "altered" somewhat. The bolt still matches the wrist socket serial number, and the DCRA serial is stamped on the top of the bolt and on the receiver ring right side, right next to the bolt head.

Edit: After taking another look at the serial numbers, it seems that this one has maybe had some surgery. The receiver is clearly marked C No4 Mk 1* Long Branch 1950, and the bolt and wrist socket are clearly beginning 73L6***. The bolt is not hollowed out at all. I actually found a magazine that works, but I don't think it is an original.
