I can't believe you have Never shot one. An ar15 that is. Go try one out. Are they over rated? Probably. Are they fun to shoot. Yes.

I know, I know... It's on my "To Shoot" list... But that list is very, very long.

It isn't a "fudd" thing either, there's a lot of Black Guns I'm really quite interested in. But the AR just doesn't float my boat. I'll probably swap around some day at the range with someone who has one, let them shoot my K31 or some such in exchange.

Myself? I don't hate anything. Except Glocks. ##### Glocks. I've fired a few of them, from 9mm to .40 and .45. They're not fun to shoot; sure they're accurate, and I have no doubt about their reliability, but just not for me. Oh, and all the 30-06 hate? That's what I like to call "hipster hate". You hate it because it's popular and everyone has one. There IS a reason they're so popular...

I chose 270 over 30/06... As I am more a gopher to deer size game guy... not so much moose (which the 06 MAY be better at with the heavier bullet)

I've owned two Lee-Enfields and will never own another, or anything else chambered in .303. My cabinet will never have an SKS in it, and I really hate this race to the bottom that gun manufacturers seem to be engaged in. They all seem to think if it's not cheap and plastic, it won't sell.
