No it's not an MOA rifle, not even close lol. If I had anything that shot like that, you would never hear about it because I would quietly torch it to pieces and bury it in the dirt.

You obviously are getting POI/MOA and battle zeros all mixed up. If you are talking about hitting a 12" target consistently, you are basically out of range at 130 yards with that rifle you have there. I realize the 500m sights are somewhat optimistic, but 10moa is just brutal. I would hope the Commies train and arm themselves better then that.
I would expect 4-5moa at minimum out of one of these.

You seem confused, no worries you dont have one so it doesnt matter

I will shoot my Type 81 Saturday and I dont expect any accuracy from my rifle. And thats not a disappointment to me Hitzy. I understand that this rifle was designed to hit a man sized targets at 100-200m. It was never designed to be 4-5 moa and hit clay pigons at 100m. The Chinese never needed the gun to be any more accurate because they believed that that their soldiers should rely on the 30 round magazine that the rifle takes to hit the target. This is the communist doctrine. Shoot a bunch of rounds and one will hit. Thats something that you need to accept Hitzy. This is a COMMUNIST rifle. It follows the same doctrine that the Russians used with the AK47 and AK74. It is ridiculous for you to expect this rifle to be 4-5 moa. Absolutely unreasonable.

You couldn't be more right....when you go to the range use a life size silhouette target and you will be hitting center mass having the time of your life.... these are great rifles to shoot and alot of fun.

Here's how a commie rifle is sighted in, great video to watch:

Yes, expecting pistol level accuracy out of a semi auto 18.6" rifle is completely absurd.... maybe that's why they dumped the T81 so soon after adopting it and went with the QZB-95 and the 5.8 cartridge. Can't kill what you can't hit.

with mine I discovered that it is more tilted (rotated to the right) rather than actually bent to the right

My front sight seems straight, just the barrel is off 6mm to the right .

6mm is quite severe for a distance of 44 cm from rear sight to the tip of the muzzle.

The type 81 is more accurate than a pistol. Which Im sure you know already but dont want to say for some reason.

How did you measure this?

Run a straight edge parallel to the left of receiver without HG and carrier.

Then measure from the edge to the middle of the barrel at two points, one near the rear sight and the other to the tip of the muzzle.

The difference in my case is 6mm.

I got my replacement type 81 out on Tuesday and though I only shot 360 rounds through it I was thoroughly impresses. No it's not a bench rest shooter but offhand ringing gongs while on the move before I've even adjusted the front sight is a good sign to me. This rifle is definitely a keeper and my only mod will be Russian red furniture refinish

That 5" group at 50 yards isn't more accurate then a pistol.
You guys should have just bought drum sets if all you wanted to do was make noise...at least you could hit something then lol.

Im sure that the shooting was done off hand very quickly. He more than likely wasn't going for accuracy.

Just got my folder. As far as I can tell from a quick glance and disassembly, it's free of any of the unfortunate failures in Chinese quality control that others have suffered. 2 out of 6 magazines, plus apology/explanation letter.

Thank you Tactical Imports!

LOL!

I was just checking my email a few minutes ago and YA tracking numbers from TI then literally 3 seconds later the doorbell rings aaaaaaand! my cheese grater shows up. Rifle is scheduled for Dec 18th.

Cheese grater came from Mississauga and rifle is in transit from AB. Gotta say the cheese grater doesn't look so bad as compared to any AK type rail. But we shall see what it looks like mounted when the rifle gets here. And if it helps groups or not.
