If i'm going grouse hunting would I need to limit my mag tube like you would for ducks in BC?
4 - It is unlawful to hunt or trap with a set gun or with a pump, repeating or auto
loading shotgun unless the magazine contains a plug that is incapable of holding
more than 2 cartridges. Where the use of a shotgun is allowed for hunting or
trapping big game, an unplugged shotgun holding more than 2 cartridges and firing
single projectiles only (slugs) may be used
Waterfowl is by international treaty, the hunting of upland game is not.
Check the regs, but I do not think there are mag limits for shot gunning grouse in BC. Or maybe there are.
Fwiw, I hunt a few every year, but am not normally a shotgunner. But the only time I normally put the plug in is when shooting at geese.
Waddya know. I am supposed to use a plug when using buckshot, but don't need one when using slugs!
Good thing I don't use the buckshot for hunting.
Cheers

just leave the factory plug in. if you need more than 3 shots it is time to spend some more practice/range time.
Lucky I hunt chickens with a .22. Or, really really rarely, grandfathers Double, but hardly at all beyond enough to not be able to say I never use a shotgun...Lucky you haven't been tagged by a co with an unplugged shotgun while hunting chickens.....
What about if you run into a flock of 5?
Because some people don't care about leaving some to breed. Why would you take the whole bunch?
If I'm not mistaken 2 round only applies to migratory birds and big game
Not small game like grouse and rabbit
What about raccoons and coyotes you cant tell me you guys are limiting your salf to 2 rounds
Yes I can, that is the law in bc
Funny I see it the law for big game and it is the law for migratory birds but nothing on small game
I called frunt counter BC thay can't find this so called law
show me wear in the regs it says your limit to 2 shots in your shotgun for hunting small game
Boo posted it in post #2
DOesn't matter what you are hunting with a shotgun, if you are using shot, you must limit magazine to 2 rounds. Using slugs you can have as much as you want.
The next person who rolls along is likely to take the remainders anyway.
If they are all dumb enough to wait around while everyone gets shot, then they get the Darwin award.
I took 4 yesterday with a .410 single. Had to go back to my bike to get more shells after the first 2. The other two waited as I struggled to get my ammo box out and opened. So they got shot.
No need for a repeater, much less an unplugged tube.
Do you park in 'Handicap' spots as well, just because the next tard might?
Atta boy.
